A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BALDWIN PARK AUTHORIZING HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE
GRANT APPLICATION
WHEREAS, the City of Baldwin Park recognizes that it is in
plan to address the state's diminishing landfill space
the public interest to enact and implement an integrated waste
potential adverse environmental impacts from landfilling;
and
WHEREAS, funds have been established by Assembly Bill 2448
Eastin, 1987), and are available from the Solid Waste Disposal
Site Cleanup and Maintenance Account in the General Fund through
the California Integrated Waste Management Board for grants to
local governments to establish and implement waste diversion and
separation programs to prevent disposal of hazardous waste,
including household hazardous waste, in solid waste landfills.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved that the City Council of the
City of Baldwin Park authorizes the submittal of an application to
the California Integrated Waste Management Board for a Household
Hazardous Waste grant. The Mayor of the City of Baldwin Park is
hereby authorized and empowered to execute in the name of the City
of Baldwin Park all necessary applications, contracts, and
agreements and amendments hereto for the purposes of securing
grant funds and to implement and carry out the purposes specified
in this application.
APPROVED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of
Baldwin Park this 19th day of February, 1992.
