The City Council of the City of Baldwin Park met in adjourned regular session at the above time and place. Councilman Bloxham led the Salute to the Flag. Flag Salute. ROLL CALL: Councilmen: Bloxham, Duskin, Taylor and Littlejohn; City Clerk, City Attorney. Absent: Councilman Cole, City Treasurer. Councilman Bloxham made a brief report on Police Department, Report of Police stating results of conference with County Sheriff held on Commissioner. Feb. 27, 1956. City Attorney Zimmerman then presented for second reading Ordinance No. Ordinance entitled: providing for imposing a City use and sales AN ORDINANCE CF THE CITY OF BALDWIN PARK IMPOSING A CITY tax; providing for the SALES AND USE TAX PROVIDING FOR THE PERFORMANCE BY THE performance by State STATE BOARD OF EQUALIZATION OF ALL FUNCTIONS INCIDENT. This Resolution then passed and adopted by the following vote: AYES: Councilman Bloxham, Duskin, Taylor and Littlejohn. NOES: None. ABSENT: Councilman Cole. Mayor Littlejohn then presented the following Resolution entitled: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BALDWIN PARK PROVIDING FOB. THE APPOINTMENT OF EIECTION OFFICIALS TO CONDUCT THE GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION TO BE HEIR ON THE SECOND. TUESDAY OF APRIL, 1956, FIXING THEIR COMPENSATION, ESTABLISHING POLLING PLACES, AND FIXING THE COMPENSATION THEREFOR." Councilman Duskin moved its adoption, seconded by Councilman Taylor; This Resolution then passed and adopted by the following vote: AYES: Councilmen Bloxham, Duskin, Taylor and Littlejohn NOES None. ABSENT: Councilman Cole. The City Administrator then presented a letter to the Los Angeles County Sheriff, authorizing him to con- tinue service to the City of Baldwin Park until such time as a formal agreement or contract is entered into between the County of Los Angeles and the City of Baldwin Park.
