The City Council of the City of Baldwin Park met in an
executive session at the above place at 10:37 A.M.
ROLL CALL: Present: Councilmen Bishop, Cole, Stephens Roll Call
and Mayor Pro tem Littlejohn;
City Clerk
Absent: City Attorney, City Treasurer.
The meeting was announced as an Executive Session for the
purpose of considering personnel problems only.
All members of the Council waived notice of the meeting.
The City Administrative Officer presented a letter from the Discharge of Sergeant
Chief of Police recommending the dismissal of Sgt. George George Cairns, Police

Moved by Councilman Stephens, seconded by Councilman Cole,
that the recommendations of the Chief of Police in this mat-
ter be approved for the good of the City.
The above motion was adopted by the following vote:
AYES: Councilmen Bishop, Cole, Stephens and Littlejohn

ABSENT: None
Moved by Mayor Pro tem Littlejohn, seconded by Councilman Sgt. Cairns to have

Moved by Mayor Pro tem Littlejohn, seconded by Councilman Authorized
Cole, that the firm of Ferguson and Judge be appointed as
the City Attorney, effective June 1, 1957, for the sum of
$750.00 per month, all normal business pertaining to City
matters to be included in this figure, and for special
cases requiring time in Court, that they be paid on the
basis of Xl50.OO per day, fractional parts of a day to be
paid accordingly; and that the City Attorney serves at the
will and pleasure of the City Council. The firm of Ferguson
and Judge to furnish their own secretarial staff and office
at the amount stipulated. That the City Attorney be direc-
ted to prepare the necessary resolution to put this into
effect.

Moved by Councilman Stephens, seconded by Councilman Mr. Samuel Zimmerman to
