Cairns had complied with the request of the Police Department that he dispose of his Private Detective Agency; that on May 1, 1957 he turned the business over to a Intr. Oven N. Christianson in El Monte; that fir. Cairns had sustained a loss of approx- imately $1000.00 in so doing. Mr. George S. Cairns, 828 Radway, Puente, California, spoke in his own behalf and confirmed the statements made by Mr. Baldwin; requested that he be reinstated and if reinstated, he would resign immediately and made the following oral resignation: I, George S. Cairns, 828 Radway, Puente, California, do as of this date make nay resignation from the Baldwin Park Police Department to the members of the City Council of the City of Baldwin Park, California. Mr. Ocren N. Christianson, 2611 Paulson Avenue, El Monte, sub- stantiated all the statements made by Hr. Baldwin and Mr. Cairns; that he had taken over the Private Detective or Investigation work of fir.
