Council Chambers) Special Meeting) The City Council of the City of Baldwin Park met in special session at the above place at 7:30 P.M.. Councilman Cole led the salute to the flag. Flag Salute Roll Call: Present: Councilmen Bishop, Cole, Holmes, Roll Call Stephens and Littlejohn; City Clerk, City Attorney, City Treasurer. The City Clerk announced thit this special meeting had been Public Hearing de novo called for the purpose of public hearing on,appeal of the Hopkins-Caillier, Hopkins-C&121w request for special use permit to mine rock Case No. Z-6 aggregate south of Olive Street and east of Rivergrade Road in Baldwin Park; that notice of hearing had been given in accordance with law. All persons present wishing to appear for or against this matter were sworn. IN FAVOR: Frank R. Johnston, attorney for Hopkin-Caillier, the applicants, 727 W. 7th Street, Los Angeles. John Q. Jewett, 609 S. Grand Avenue, Los Angeles, registered civil engineer in California, and a partner in the consulting engineering firm of Leeds, Hill and Jewett, with offices in Los Angeles. Tyler Suess, 5037 Magnolia Avenue, Riverside, California, Planning Consultant. OPPOSITION: Spence W. Stowell 13323 E. Demblon Street, Baldwin Park. Leigh-Strohmeyer, 4425 N. Hengler, 13325 Los Angeles Street, Baldwin Park Moved by Councilman Stephens, seconded by Councilman Holmes, and unanimously carried, that all persons in the audience in opposition be asked to stand so that a count could be taken. 56 persons stood in opposition. Roy %hite, 2123 Holly Drive, Los Angeles, and George E. Becker, 3630 W. 112th Street, Lennox, both representing the City of Los Angeles, Department of Water and Power, which operates a high voltage transmission line across the property in question, stated that they anticipated some dmage to their equipment caused by dust from the proposed quarry operations. Chief Administrative Officer presented the following resolution: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL CF THE CITY CF BALDWIDN PARK, DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO REZONE PROPERTY AFTER T E COMPLIANCE WITH CERTAIN CONDI- TIONS BY THE PROPERTY OWNER Zone Case No. Z-36)? Moved by Councilman Cole, seconded by Councilman Holmes, and, unanimously carried., that resolution be read by title only. Moved by Mayor Littlejohn, seconded by Councilman Bishop, and unanimously carried, that necessary permits be granted, with waiver of fees, subject to presentation of insurance certi- ficates by parties involved.
