The City Council of the City of Baldwin
Park met in a study session session in
Room 307 at 6:00 p.m.
ROLL CALL: PRESENT: COUNCILMEMBERS GALLEGOS, MARTINEZ ROLL CALL
MCNEILL, MUSE AND MAYOR VARGAS
ALSO PRESENT: Acting Dir. of Administrative Cole,
Police Chief Lanza,
Dir. of Public Works Mousavi,
Dir. of Community Dev. Carbajal,
Dir. of Human Services Nunez, and
City Clerk Gair

Mayor Vargas declared the study session in session at IN SESSION
6:00 p.m.
Topics were: TOPICS
The San Gabriel Valley Council of Government's COG)
purpose was explained by community Development Director
Carbajal. A resolution will be brought before Council
at the next meeting to appoint a member and alternate.
This must be done by February 25, 1994.
The new by-laws for the Sierra Vista Project Area
Committee will be brought before the Agency. Mr.
Carbajal explained the present meeting schedule, the
frustration of the present committee, and the need for
a 13 member PAC.
The Healthy Cities project was explained by Human
Services Director Nunez and that this issue will be
coming back to Council. Participants in this project
receive $5,000 which can be used for adult literacy,
public safety, and providing immunizations.
The job description for the new Administrative Assistant
was discussed at length. Council requested more
emphasis on experience in communications and that a
supplemental description be distributed on the position.
The Mayor and Councilwoman Muse will met with the
Executive Team to discuss the changes.
The graffiti program as a seven day program was
recommended.
The study session was dismissed at 7:00
