AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF BALDWIN PARK AMENDING CERTAIN
PROVISIONS OF ARTICLE II, CHAPTER 8 OF
THE BALDWIN PARK MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING
TO PURCHASING
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BALDWIN PARK DOES ORDAIN AS
FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That subsection d) of Section 2803 of the Baldwin
Park Municipal Code is hereby amended to read as follows:
d) When the amount of said purchase involved is
Five Thousand Dollars $5.000) or less."
SECTION 2. That Section 2811 is hereby added to the Baldwin
Park Municipal Code to read as follows:
2811. CONTRACTS FOR SERVICES. Whenever directed
by the City Council to obtain administrative, legal,
accounting or other professional services to be performed
by a consultant, the City Manager shall seek and obtain
written proposals from qualified persons authorized to
perform such services. He shall obtain a sufficient
number of such proposals to insure that the cost thereof
is consistent with the market. He shall thereafter
select the lowest responsible proposal and offer the
contract to such person."
SECTION 3. That Section 2812 is hereby added to the Baldwin Park
Municipal Code to read as follows:
2812. PUBLIC WORKS CONTRACTS. The City Manager
shall obtain, based upon written specifications, three 3)
informal bids from qualified persons to perform the work
required for any public project defined as such in Section
37901 of the Government Code of the State of California, as
to which Section 37902 of the Government Code does not
require compliance with the formal bidding process contem-
plated by said Government Code sections."
SECTION 4. That the City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of
this Ordinance and shall cause the same to be published in the manner
prescribed by law.
APPROVED and ADOPTED this 4th day of/March 1981.

and placed upon its first reading at a regular meeting of the City Council
on the 18th day of February, 1981. That, thereafter, said Ordinance was
duly approved and adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council on the
4th day of March, 1981, by the following vote:
