AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF BALDWIN PARK ESTABLISHING A
FILING FEE FOR CANDIDATES IN
MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS URGENCY)
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BALDWIN PARK DOES ORDAIN
AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1.
finds as follows:
That the City Council of the City of Baldwin Park
Section 22843 of the California Elections Code
declares that a filing fee proportionate to the costs
of processing a candidates nomination papers as
determined by the city council and set by ordinance,
but not exceeding twenty-five dollars $25), may
be imposed, to be paid upon the filing of such
nomination papers.
Section 2. City Council fixes and establishes and City Council
determines and sets a filing fee in the sum of twenty-five dollars $25)
for candidates filing nomination papers.
Section 3. City Council finds that the fee established by
Section 2 of the Ordinance is proportionate to the fee necessary for
processing nomination papers.
Section 4. This Ordinance, being an Ordinance relating to an
election shall take effect immediately.
Section 5. That the City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
hereof and shall cause this Ordinance to be published in the manner
prescribed by law.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 30th day of December, 1981.
