AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF BALDWIN PARK RECODI-
FYING THE BALDWIN PARK MUNICIPAL
CODE, AND ADOPTING CERTAIN UNIFORM
CODES, TO WIT: 1) THE PUBLIC
HEALTH CODE OF LOS ANGELES COUNTY",
BEING LOS ANGELES COUNTY ORDINANCE
NO. 7583, AS AMENDED THROUGH AND
INCLUDING JUNE 30, 1974; and 2)"THE
LOS ANGELES COUNTY SANITARY SEWER AND
INDUSTRIAL WASTE ORDINANCE", BEING
LOS ANGELES COUNTY ORDINANCE NO.
81-0043; AND 3) THE ANIMAL CONTROL
ORDINANCE OF THE COUNTY OF LOS
ANGELES", THE SAME BEING ORDINANCE

THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BALDWIN PARK DOES
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the City Council of the City of
Baldwin Park does hereby find, determine and declare, as follows;
a) That in 1956, the City Council of the
City of Baldwin Park adopted a Municipal Code
hereinafter Code") for said City; and
b) That from time to time thereafter, as
the need so required, said Code was revised to
reflect changes in law and administrative practices;
and
c) That the most recent comprehensive revision
of said Code occurred in 1974; and
d) That since the adoption of the 1974
revisions to the Code, substantial changes in law
by the Legislature and the judiciary, have occurred,
which necessitate certain changes in the existing
provisions of the said Code, and
e) That the City has employed a consultant,
Book Publishing Company, Inc., a corporation, to
revise the said Code so as to reflect applicable
changes in the law and administrative practices; and
f) That said Code has been so revised; and
g) That the public interest, convenience and
necessity requires the enactment of the revised Code.

ORD 860 Ü h£Ÿjì ã SECTION 2. That that certain document entitled
Baldwin Park Municipal Code, 1983" consisting of Sections
1,01 through 17.56.130, inclusive, as attached hereto, and
incorporated herein by this reference, be and the same
hereby is, adopted as the Municipal Code for the said City
hereafter Municipal Code"),
SECTION 3. Neither the adoption of the Municipal
Code hereby, nor the repeal of suspension of any ordinance
or prior code hereinafter ordinances") of this City:
1) shall, in any manner affect the prosecu-
tion for a violation of any ordinances, committed
prior to the effective date this Ordinance; nor
2) shall the same be construed as a waiver of
the requirement for any license or permit under such
Ordinances; nor
3) shall the same be construed as affecting any
of the provisions of such ordinances relating to the
collection of any taxes or the penal provisions appli
cable to any violation thereof; nor
4) shall the same be construed to affect the
validity of any bond or cash deposit in lieu thereof,
required to be posted, filed or deposited pursuant to
any such ordinance, and all rights and obligations
thereunder appertaining shall continue in full force
and effect.
The provisions of the Municipal Code adopted hereby,
as they are substantially the same as pre-existing ordinances
of the City relating to the same subject matter, shall be
construed as restatements and continuations of existing
laws, and not as new enactments.
Any person holding any position of employment with
the City as of the effective date of this Ordinance, shall
maintain and carry forward such status; however, each such
position, shall, after the effective date hereof, be subject,
in all respects, to the provisions of the Municipal Code
adopted hereby.
SECTION 4. That the Municipal Code adopted
hereby, enacts, by reference, certain Unifonn Codes pursuant to
Section 50022.1 of the Government Code five Codes so
adopted are as follows:
1) The Public Health Code of Los Angeles
County", being Los Angeles County Ordinance No. 7583,
as amended through and including June 30, 1974; and
2) The Los Angeles County Sanitary Sewer and
Industrial Waste Ordinance being Los Angeles
County Ordinance No. 81-0043; and
3) the Animal Control Ordinance of the County
of Los Angeles", the same being Ordinance No. 4729
as amended through and inlcuding August 30, 1982; and
4) the Uniform Building Code, 1982 Edition";
and
5) the Uniform Fire Code, 1982 Edition"; and
6) The 1981 National Electric Code"; and
7) the Uniform Wiring Code 1971 Edition"; and
8) the Uniform Mechanical Code, 1982
Edition, Volume II, Uniform Building Code"; and
9) the Uniform Plumbing Code, 1982 Edition";
and

Housing Code"; and
11) the Uniform Solar Energy Code, 1976
Edition"; and
12) the Uniform Building Code. 1982 Edition"
entitled Signs"; and
13) the Uniform Swimming Pool Code, 1976
Edition".
Three 3) copies of each of the above Codes are on
file with the City Clerk of said City.
SECTION 5. Any person violating any provision of any
of the Codes described in Section 4 hereof, shall be guilty of a
misdeameanor, and shall be punished by imprisonment for a period
of not to exceed 6 months or by a fine not in excess of $500.00,
or by both such imprisonment and fine. Each day such violation occurs
or exists shall be a separate offense.
SECTION 6. That the provisions of the Baldwin Park Municipal
Code in effect prior to adoption of this Ordinance, as amended
through the effective date of this Ordinance, to wit: October 7, 1983
Sections 1000 through and included 9806, inclusive, are hereby
suspended during such time as this Ordinance is in full force
and effect. That all other ordinances and other former Municipal
Code provisions, inconsistent with the provisions of the Municipal
Code, as adopted by Section 2 hereof, shall be deemed, for all
purposes, to be suspended during such time as this Ordinance
is in full force and effect.
SECTION 7. That the City Clerk shall certify to the
adoption of this Ordinance and shall publish a summary of this
Ordinance together with the names of those members of the City
Council voting for and against the same and, the City Clerk shall
post it in the office of the City Clerk a certified copy of the
full text of such adopted ordinance together with the names of
the City Council members voting for and g^nst the same.

regular meeting of the City Council on the 7th day of September 1983,
