AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF BALDWIN PARK MODIFYING ORDINANCE NO- 921
RELATING TO A MORATORIUM. URGENCY MEASURE)
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BALDWIN PARK DOES
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the City Council of the City of Baldwin
Park does hereby find, determine and declare, as follows:
a) That this City Council heretofore adopted
Ordinance No- 921 which had the effect of imposing a
building moratorium on certain properties described
in said Ordinance; and
b) That said ordinance, in Section 4 thereof,
provides for certain exceptions to the moratorium
thereby imposed
c) That said exceptions do not permit work or
rehabilitation upon an existing building or structure
in excess of the sum of $10,000.00, even if such work
or reconstruction is necessary to remedy a condition
which is either a public nuisance or represents a
threat to persons or properties
d) That the public interest requires that the
said provisions of Ordinance 921 be amended so as to
permit any work which is ordered or requested by the
City's Building Department in order to eliminate a
public nuisance, a potential public nuisance, or
any other condition of a building or structures which
does, or could, constitute a threat to persons or
adjacent properties;
e) That the public interest, convenience and
necessity require the enactment of this Ordinance.
SECTION 2. That Subdivision e) is hereby added to
Section 4 of Ordinance No. 921 to read as follows:
e) Which work or rehabilitation which in the
opinion of the City's Building Department is necessary,
to eliminate, correct or abate a public nuisance or
any other condition which is, or may be, harmful to
persons or to other properties in the immediate
vicinity thereof, regardless of the cost of such work
or rehabilitation."
SECTION 3. That this Ordinance is hereby declared to
be an urgency measure and shall take effect immediately upon its
adoption. A statement of facts which constitutes the basis for
such urgency is as above set forth.

adoption of the Ordinance and cause the same to be published
in the manner prescribed by law.
