HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 959ORD 959x ôÎÞUORDINANCE NO. 959 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BALDWIN PARK APPROV- ING AN AMENDMENT TO THE BALDWIN PARK ZONING CODE CHAPTER 17.32 IN ORDER TO ALLOW TEMPORARY SIGNS TO BE DISPLAYED FOUR 4) TIMES PER YEAR NOT TO EXCEED 100 DAYS PER YEAR APPLICANT: CITY OF BALDWIN PARK; CASE NO.: AZC-112). THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BALDWIN PARK DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1 SECTION 2. That the City Council of the City of Baldwin Park does hereby find and determine as follows: a) That a duly noticed public hearing was held upon said matter by the Planning Commission and based upon the evidence presented, it determined that the public necessity, convenience, and general welfare required that it recommend the approval of the zoning code amendment allowing temporary signs to be displayed not more than four 4) times per year not to exceed 100 total days per year. b) That the City Council conducted a duly noticed hearing on said matter, and based upon the evidence presented, it was determined that the public interest, necessity, convenience, general welfare required the approval of the Zoning Code amendment, herein described. That Section 17.32.020.R of the Baldwin Park Municpal Code is hereby amended to read as follows: 17.32.020. Definitions. SECTION 3 SECTION 4 R. Temporary Sign" means and includes any sign not to exceed twenty-four square feet, constructed of paper, cloth, canvas or other similar lightweight material, with or without frames, including but not limited to painted windows. Only one temporary sign may be displayed for each use, at any one time; provided that temporary signs for each use may be displayed not more than four 4) times per calendar year and not to exceed a total of 100 days per calendar year. That the City Council at the time of the public hearing on the above matter reviewed and considered the proposed Negative Declaration, and comments relating thereto. That the City Council, based upon its public review, does here- by approve the proposed Negative Declaration, since there is no substantial evidence that the project will have a significant effect on the environment. That the City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Ordinance and shall cause a copy of the same to be published in the manner prescribed by law, and shall forward a copy of the same to the Secretary of the Planning Commission. The Secretary of the Planning Commission shall file the Negative Declaration.
