ORDINANCE NO. 994
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BALDWIN PARK AMENDING CHAPTER 8.12 OF THE BALDWIN
PARK MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO ANIMAL CONTROL
REGULATIONS
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BALDWIN PARK DOES HEREBY
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That Chapter 8.12 entitled Animal Control
Regulations", consisting of Sections 8.12.010 through 8.12.060,
inclusive, of the Baldwin Park Municipal Code, is hereby
amended to read as follows:
8,12.010 Adoption of County Ordinance.
A. Subj ect to the amendments and deletions set forth in
Section 8.12.030 through 8.12.050, inclusive, of this Chapter,
Title Ten of the Los Angeles County Code, in effect as of the
operative date of this Chapter, enacted by Ordinance No. 4729
of this said County of Los Angeles, and as amended and
codefied, through and including July 31, 1988, is hereby
adopted by this reference, as the animal control ordinance of
the City, which is hereafter referred to as the Animal Control
Ordinance."
B. Copies of the Animal Control Ordinance are on file in the
office of the City Clerk of the City and are available for
inspection by interested members of the public,
8.12.020 Definitions. Whereever in the Animal Control
Ordinance the following words or phrases are used, they
respectively, shall have the meanings ascribed to them in this
section:
A. County Clerk' means the City Clerk of the City.
B. County' or County of Los Angeles' means the City.
C. Unincorporated Territory' refers to the City,

of the County Animal Control Ordinance is amended to read as
follows:
Section 10.20.030 License and License Tag-Required Costs.
Every person owning or having custody or control of any dog
over the age of four months in the unincorporated territory of
the County of Los Angeles not covered by the provisions of
Section 10.20.090 shall first obtain an annual license from the
Director for each of such dogs and at the same time obtain a
dog license tag, and for such license or licenses, shall pay a
fee as set by resolution of the City Council.'
8.12.040 Section 10.20.110 Amended. Section 10.20.110
of the County Animal Control Ordinance is amended to read as
follows:
Section 10.20.110 License Tab Fee for Spayed or Neutered
Animals. Whenever dog licenses tags are issued and not covered
by Section 10.20.090, any such tag shall be issued for one-half
or less of the fee required for a dog, if a certificate is
presented from a licensed veterinarian that the dog has been
spayed or neutered as provided in Section 30804.5 of the Food
and Agricultural Code.'
8.12.050 Chapter 10.28 Deleted. Chapter 10.28 of the
Animal Control Ordinance, consisting of Sections 10.28.010
through 10.28.260 inclusive, is deleted.

The operative date of this
SECTION 2. The provisions of this Chapter are severable;
and if any provision, clause, sentence, section, word, or part
herein is found to be invalid, unconstitutional or inapplicable
to any person or circumstances, such invalidity or
inapplicability shall not affect or impair any of the remaining
provisions, clauses, sentences, sections, words or parts of
this Chapter or its applicability to other persons or
circumstances.
SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of
this Ordinance and shall cause the same to be published as
required by law.

regular meeting of the City Council on August 17, 1988. That,
thereafter, said Ordinance was duly approved and adopted at a
regular meeting of the City Council on September 21, 1988, by
