AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF BALDWIN PARK AMENDING THE BALDWIN PARK
MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO PUBLIC NUISANCES.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BALDWIN PARK DOES HEREBY
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That Section 8.08.010 of the Baldwin Park
Municipal Code is hereby amended by adding thereto, as subsection
I, the following:
Z. To improperly store or maintain any toxic or
highly hazardous waste or materials on any such property
which material or waste will, or may, be injurious to
persons or to adjacent properties."
SECTION 2. Section 8.08.140 of Chapter 8.08 of the
Baldwin Park Municipal Code is hereby amended to read as follows:
Section 8.08.140. Emergency Abatement.
Notwithstanding any other provision of this Chapter with
reference to the abatement of public nuisance, whenever
the City Manager or his duly authorized representative
determines that a public nuisance, within the meaning of
this Chapter, 8.08, exists on any property in the City
which constitutes an immediate hazard or danger to
persons or property, he shall without observing the
provisions of his Chapter with reference to nuisance
abatement procedures immediately and forthwith abate the
existing public nuisance. Where such abatement is
lawfully accomplished pursuant to this Section, 8.08.140,
the City Manager shall comply with the provisions of
Sections 8.08.110 through 8.08.130 inclusive."
SECTION 3. That the city Clerk shall certify to the
adoption hereof and cause this ordinance to be published in the
manner prescribed by law.

I, LINDA L. GAIR, City Clerk of the City of
Baldwin Park, do hereby certify that the foregoing Ordinance
No. 1018 was regularly introduced and placed upon its first
reading at a regular meeting of the City Council on the 5th day
of April 1989. That, thereafter, said Ordinance was duly
approved and adopted at a regular Meeting of the City Council on
the 19th day of April 1989, by the following vote:
