AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BALDWIN
PARK RELATING TO THE HOURS OF
CONSTRUCTION AND SOUND
AMPLIFICATION DEVICES
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BALDWIN PARK DOES ORDAIN AS
FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That Chapter 9.33 is hereby added to the Baldwin
Park Municipal Code to read as follows:
Chapter 9.33 Noise Ordinance
9.33.010 Permitted Hours of Construction. No person shall
engage in any act of construction, reconstruction or demolition
as to any building or structure, including, but not limited to
grading operations, on any lot located in the City, except
between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. of any day.
9.16.070 Sound Amplification Systems. No person shall
operate, or permit operation of, any sound amplification system
mounted or installed in any motor vehicle which can be heard from
50 or more feet, from public or private property, unless that
system is being operated to request assistance or warn of a
hazardous situation.
This section does not apply to authorized emergency vehicles or
vehicles operated by gas, electric, communications or water
utilities. This section does not apply to the sound systems of
vehicles used in parades or other special events.
SECTION 2. That the City Clerk shall certify to the
adoption of this Ordinance and shall cause the same to be
published in the manner prescribed by law.
