Home My WebLink AboutORD 1209ORD 1209pT3(Ììæ ORDINANCE NO. 1209 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BALDWIN PARK AMENDING CHAPTER 50, SECTION 19 OF TITLE V OF THE BALDWIN PARK MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO FEES FOR REFUSE COLLECTION AND CURBSIDE RECYCLING SERVICES WHEREAS, the collection and disposal of refuse is a matter requiring control and regulation by the City, in order to protect the public peace, health, safety and general welfare; and WHEREAS, in order to protect the public peace, health, safety and general welfare, the City has entered into a franchise agreement for the provision of refuse collection and disposal services with Waste Management of the Pomona/San Gabriel Valley dated January 1, 1990 Agreement"); and WHEREAS, said Agreement provides for annual adjustments in the fees charged for refuse collection and disposal services. NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Baldwin Park does hereby ordain as follows: Section 1. Chapter 50.19 of the Baldwin Park Municipal Code is hereby amended to read in its entirety as follows: 50.19 Fees for Refuse Collection and Disposal. Franchisee is hereby authorized to charge the following fees for refuse collection and disposal effective July 1, 2003. Severabilitv. The City Council of the City of Baldwin Park hereby declares that, should any section, paragraph, sentence or word of the Ordinance of the Code, hereby adopted, be declared for any reason to be invalid, it is the intent of the Council that it would have passed all other remaining portions of this Ordinance independent of the offending section, paragraph, sentence or word. Section 3. That the City Clerk of the City of Baldwin Park shall certify to the passage and adoption of this Ordinance and shall cause the same to be posted and published in the manner required by law.
