HomeMy WebLinkAbout1963 029 CC RESO1963 029 CC RESO¼òw @|-1RESOLUTION NO. 65-29 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BALDWIN PARK REQUESTING LEGISLATION REGULATING AND SETTING PERMISSIBLE STANDARDS FOR THE USE AND SALE OF ALL DETERGENTS. WHEREAS, because of the great number of people who are now living in the State of California, and in Southern California in particular, there is a great and growing need to make the most efficient use of existing water resources; and WHEREAS, one of the major means of using such water resources efficiently is to reclaim water after It has been used and to use such reclaimed water for recharging ground water basins and for domestic purposes; and WHEREAS, in the reclamation of water it has been found to be extremely difficult to remove detergents therefrom; and WHEREAS, the use of detergents for domestic and commer- cial purposes has become so wide spread that It has created and will continue to create an emergency in the reclamation of water; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Baldwin Park City Council that the City of Baldwin Park, on behalf of Its citizens, hereby respectfully requests Senator Thomas M» Rees, Assemblyman Philip Soto of the 50th Assembly District, and Harvey N. Johnson of the 58th Assembly District, to introduce legislation Immediately, and to take the necessary action to cause to be adopted legislation to regulate and set permissible standards for the use and sale of all detergents within the State of California; RESOLVED FURTHER that the City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this resolution and forward certified copies thereof to Senator Thomas M. Rees, Assemblyman Philip Soto, Assemblyman Harvey M, Johnson, the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors and to any other interested parties. ADOPTED and APPROVED this i+th day of /^ar-ch__^ 1963.
