HomeMy WebLinkAbout1963 062 CC RESO1963 062 CC RESO¼òw @|-©RESOLUTION NO. 65-62 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BALDWIN PARK OPPOSING THE NINE DISTRICT MUNICIPAL COURT CONSOLIDATION PLAN AS SPONSORED BY THE LOS ANGELES COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS AND AS EM- BODIED IN ASSEMBLY BILL NO. 2659 AT THE 1965 SESSION OF THE STATE LEGISLATURE WHEREAS, the City of Baldwin Park has considered the arguments for and against the proposed nine-district court con" solldatlon plan; and WHEREAS, no Improvement in economy or efficiency in the operation of the municipal courts has been demonstrated by the proposed consolidation; and WHEREAS, the consolidation plan, rather than achieve economy, would Increase considerably the cost to cities and citizens due to problems of transporting police officers and prisoners, and would Increase similarly travel costs and in- conveniences to citizens, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Baldwin Park records Its opposition to the consolidation plan and urges the Legislature of the State of California to reject it at this session of the Legislature* ADOPTED and APPROVED this l^th day of May, 1965.
