HomeMy WebLinkAbout1963 069 CC RESO1963 069 CC RESO¼òw @|-½RESOLUTION NO. 63-69 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY F BLAIMIN PARK DECLARING THAT PROCEEDINGS RAVE BEEN INITIATED m THE CITY COUNCIL CF WE CITY OF BALDWIN PARK TO AN^EX TO SAID CITY CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY DES- CRIBED HEREIN AND DESIGNATED ANNEXATION NO. 13" The City Council of the City of Baldwin Park does resolve as follows: SECTION 1. That, pursuant to the provisions of the Annexa- tion of Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939^ proceedings have been initiated by the Council of the Ci+y of Baldwin Park, on its own motion, to annex to the City of Baldwin Park all that uninhabited territory situated in the County of Los Angeles, State of California, hereby designated as Annexation No, 13'S ancl described as follows: Beginning at an angle point in the southerly boundary of the City of Baldwin Park, as said boundary existed on April 13^ 1963^ said angle point being the intersection of a line which is parallel with and distant northwesterly 20 feet, measured at right angles from the southeasterly line of Lot U8 in Tract No. 718, as per map recorded in Book 17^ page 17 of Maps, in the office of the County Recorded of said county, with a line which is parallel with and distant southerly 3$ feet measured at right angles from the northerly line of the land conveyed to the Los Angeles County Flood Control District 300 feet wide at this point) in Parcel 116 in a Final Order of Condemnation had in Superior Court Case No. 62$31?^ a certified copy of which is recorded in Book $l8i^2, page 35b^ of Official Records of said county; thence along s?.id first mentioned parallel line. South 38° 29' 3h11 West 21^87 feet, more or less, to a line which has a bearing of North 88° l6' $6" West and which passes through a point in the center line of Baldwin Park Boulevard, 60 feet wide, shown as Covina Street on said Nap of Tract No. 718, distant therein North 38° 29' 3li" East $!?• 97 feet from a monument set by the Surveyor of said county and as shown on Los Angeles County Flood Control District Right-of-Way Map filed in the office of the County Engineer of said county, as County Surveyor's Filed Map No. 12h07-hf for the location of the intersection of said center line of Baldwin Park Boulevard with the northerly line of O.T, Bassett's Subdivision of the Workman Tract, as shown on mari recorded in Book $9^ pages 1^ to 9, inclusive, of Miscellaneous Records, in the office of said recorder 5 thence along said last described line. That the Council of the City of Bladwin Park desired to annex sa-^d uninhabited territory to the City of Baldwin Park for the following reasons: The territory is contiguous to the City of Baldwin Park, is uninhabited and its proposed annexation will contrjbute to and facilitate the orderly growth and development of both the City and the territory proposed to be annexed. SECTION 3. That the County Boundary Commission of Los Angeles County, California, did in session duly assembled, approve the proposed annexation boundaries of said annexation as above des- cribed and as submitted to said Commission by the Council of the City of Baldwin Park. SECTION h. That Wednesday^ July I?______, 1963, at the hour of 8:00 P.M., in the Council Chambers of the City Hall in the City of Baldwin Park, County of Los Angeles, California, is hereby fixed as the time and place when and where the City Council will hear protests made by any person owning real property within the uninhabited territory described above and proposed to be annexed to the City of Baldwin Park. Such protests must be in writing, and may be filed with the Clerk at any time prior to the final adjournment of said hearing; and shall state the name or names of the owner or owners of property affected, and the description and area of such property, in general terms* SECTION $. The City Clerk of the City of Baldwin Park, is hereby authorized and directed to cause a copy of this resolution to be posted as required by law, and to be published at least twice, but not oftener than once a week, in the San Gabriel Valley Tribune, a news- paper of general circulation, printed and published outside of Sold City of Baldwin Park, but in the County of Los Angeles, California, the County in which is located the territory proposed to be annexed to the City of Baldwin Park said publication to be complete at least twenty days prior to the date sft for hearing. SECTION 6. The City Clerk is further authorized and directed to cause written notice of such proposed annexation to be mailed to each person to whom land within the territory proposed to be annexed is assessed in the last eoualized county assessment rollavailable on the date the above said proceedings were initiated, at the addresses shown on said assessment roll or known to the Clerk, and to any person who has filed his name and address and the designation of the lands in which he has an interest, either legal or equitable, with the Clerk, such notice to be given not less than twenty days before the first public hearing on the proposed annexation, SECTION 7.
