HomeMy WebLinkAbout1963 070 CC RESO1963 070 CC RESO¼òw @|-ÁRESOLUTION NO. 63-70 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BALDWIN PARK DECLARING THAT PROCEEDINGS HAVE BEEN INITIATED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BALDWIN PARK TO ANNEX TO SAID CITY CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY DES- CRIBED HEREIN AND DESIGNATED ANNEXATION NO. h'^ The City Council of the City of Baldwin Park does resolve as to I lows; SECTION I. That, pursuant to the provision of the Annexa- tion of Uninhabited Territory Act of 1959» proceedings have been initiated by the Council of the City of Baldwin Park, on its own motions, to annex to the City of Baldwin Park all that uninhabited territory situated in the County of Los Angeles, State of California, hereby designated as Annexation No. 1^9 arid described as follows; Beginning at an angle point in the westerly boundary of the City of Baldwin Park, as said boundary existed on April 15, 1965, said angle point being in the northerly line of the land conveyed to the Los Angeles County Flood Control District, 500 feet wide at this point) in Parcel 116 in a Final Order of Condemnation had in Superior Court Case No. 625515, a certified copy of which is recorded in Book 51842, page 554, of Official Records of said county distant therein South 82" 07' 59" West 251.49 feet from the southeasterly line of Lot 48 in Tract No, 7l8, as per map recorded in Book 17, page 17 of Maps, in the office of said recorder; thence South 7° 521 21" East along said westerly boundary of the City of Baldwin Park 25.81 feet, more or less, to a line which has a bearing of North 88° 16' 56" West and which passes through a point in the center line of Baldwin Park BouI.evard, 60 feet wide, shown as Covina Street on said map of Tract No. 7l8, distant therein, North 58° 29' 54" East 555.97 feet from a monument set by the Surveyor of said county and as shown on Right-of-Way Map of the Los Angeles County Flood Control District filed as County Surveyor's Filed Map No. 12407-4 in he office of the County Engineer of said county, for the location of the intersection of said center line of Baldwin Park Boulevard with the northerly line of 0. T. Bassett's Subdivision of the Workman Tract, as shown on map recorded in Book 59, pages 4 to 9, inclusive of Miscellaneous Records, in the office of said Recorder; thence along said last described line. North 88° 61 56" West 67 feet, more or less, to a point which is distant therein North 88° 16' 56" West 299.59 feet from said center line of Baldwin Park Boulevard; thence South 87° 57' 24" West 152.08 feet, more or less to the southerly boundary of the City of Baldwin Park, as said boundary existed on April 15, 1965; thence easterly along said boundary of the City of Baldwin Park to the point of beginning. That the Council of the City of Baldwin Park desired to annex said uninhabited territory to the City of Baldwin Park for the following reasons: The territory is contiguous to the City of Baldwin Park, is uninhabited and its proposed annexation wiI I contri bute to and facilitate the orderly growth and development of both the City and the territory proposed to be annexed, SECTION 5. That the County Boundary Commission of Los Angeles County, California, did in session duly assembled, approve the proposed annexation boundaries of said annexation as above des- cribed and as submitted to said Commission by the Council of the City of Baldwin Park. SECTION 4. That Wednesday, July 17________, 1965, at the hour of 8:00 p.m., in the Council Chambers of the City Hall in the City of Baldwin Park, County of Los Angeles, California, is hereby fixed as the time and place when and where the City Council will hear protests made by any person owning real property within the uninhabited territory described above and proposed to be annexed to the City of Baldwin Park. Such protests must be in writing, and may be filed with the Clerk at any time prior to the final adjournment of said hearing; and shall state the name or names of the owner or owners of property affected, and the description and area of such property, in general terms. SECTION 5. The City Clerk of the City of Baldwin Park is hereby authorized and directed to cause a copy of this resolution to be posted as required by law, and to be published at least twice, but not oftener than once a week, in the San Gabriel Valley Tribune, a news- paper of general circulation, printed and published outside of said City of Baldwin Park, but in the County of Los Angeles, California, the County in which is located the territory proposed to be annexed to the City of Baldwin Park said publication to be complete at least twenty days prior to the date set for hearing. SECTION 6. The City Clerk is further authorized and directed to cause written notice of such proposed annexation to be mailed to each person to whom land within the territory proposed to be annexed is assessed in the last equalized county assessment roll available on the date the above said proceedings were initiated, at the addresses shown on said assessment roll or known to the Clerk, and to any person who has filed his name and address and the designation of the lands in which he has an interest, either legal or equitable, with the Clerk, such notice to be given not less than twenty days before the first public hearing on the proposed annexation.
