RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF BALDWIN PARK CONCURRING
WITH THE PROPOSED REL INQUISHMENT
OF CERTAIN PROT10NS OF STATE HIGH-
WAY, ROUTE 26, IN THE CITY OF BALDWIN
PARK, AS SHOW ON OFFICIAL RELINQUISH-
MENT MAPS.
WHEREAS, the City of Baldwin Park was notified on May 12, 1962
by the Department of Public Works, State of California, of Its intention to
relinquish certain highways, or portions thereof, to the City, and
WHEREAS, the City has made a detailed study of said relirquish-
ments, and
WHEREAS, it has been determined that there are various physical
problems which would place the City in the position of having undue maint-
enance responsib i1117 ec and
WHEREAS, representatives of the State Division of Highways have
met with representatives of the City to discuss the deficiencies and
WHEREAS, the legal responsibilities of the City with respect to
the drainage problem has not yet been determined.
NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved that the City Council of the City
of Baldwin Park does hereby concur with the proposed relinquishment of the
State highways within the City of Baldwin Park as shown on the Official Relin
quishment maps, subject to resolving the folIcwing conditions:
SECTION I• Provide for the landscaping and the maintenance
facilities of adequate standards on the overpass embankment portions of
Parcels No. I, 5 ar}^ 6-
SECTICN 2. Provide for adequate drainage facilities to minirrize
maintenance and legal responsibilities on the following;
a) Parcel No. 9 that portion of Francisqulto Avenue
b) Parcel No. 12 that portion of Francisqulto Avenue
c) Parcel No, 5 that portion of Garvey Avenue receiving
run-off from Baldwin Park Boulevard
d) Parcel No, U that portion of Maine Avenue designated
as frontage road,
ADOPTED AND PASSED this 2nd day of July_____, 1962.
