RESOLUTION GRANTING CONSENT AND JURIS-
DICTION TO THE COUNTY OF LOS ANGELES
IN THE MATTER OF COUNTY LIGHTING
MAINTENANCE DISTRICT NO. 17^
PETITION NO. 66-65
WHEREAS, The 8oord of Supervisors of the Comfy of Loa Angefos
to about o ooBmience proceedings under DIvison 7 of the Streets and Highways
Code. for the annexation of territory to County Lighting Maintenance District
No. 7^ and
WHEREAS, the proposed annexation will have street lights installed
Tn the City of Baldwin Park; and
WHEREAS, aN of the land included in the proposed annexation lies
within the boundary of the City of Baldwin Park.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Baldwin Park as follows:
SECTION
That the public interest, convenience and necessity require the
maintenance of a street lighting system located within said territory as shown
on the maps of the annexation to County Lighting Maintenance District No.
17^4. approved by the County Boundary Commission on the September 25, 965,
and on file n the office of the Road Commissioner, as set forth in the proposed
Resolution of Intention of the Board of Supervisors of the County of Los
Angeles for this annexation, a copy of which resolution, incomplete as to
dates and similar information which can only be inserted at the time of
adoption, is attached hereto and made a part hereof.
SECTION 2
That this City Council hereby consents to the annexation of said
territory.a^ described In siid proposed Resolution of Intention. Included

the City of Baldwin Park.
SECTION 3
That this City Council hereby finds and determines that the lands
included witDnin the boundary of the proposed annexation as set forth in said
proposed Resolution of Intention, lying within the boundary of the City of
Baldwin Park, will be benefited by the said proposed annexation to the
maintenance district, and hereby consents to the inclusion of said lands within
the proposed annexation and to the assessment thereof.
SECTION U
That the consent of this City Council is hereby given to the commence-
ment of the proceedings for said annexation to County Lighting Maintenance
District No, 17iA by the Board of Supervisors of the County of Los Angeles,
and to the exercise of exclusive jurisdiction of said Board of Supervisors
over all proceedings necessary thereto for the purpose of consummating the
same, all In accordance with the provisions of Divison 7 of the Streets and
Highways Code.
SECTJON
That the Clerk of the City Council is hereby directed to certify
and deliver two copies of this resolution to the Clerk of the Board of
Supervisors of the County of Los Angeles.
SECTION 6
The City Clerk shall certify to the pe««eg» of his resolution by the City Council
of the City of Baldwin Pork and shQN ceus6 the same to be posted In three 3)
conspicuous places In the City of Baldwin Park, and tt shall thereupon take effect.

RESOLUTION OF INTENTION TO ANNEX TERRITORY
TO CC'JNTY LIGHTING MAINTENANCE DISTRICT
NO. i7l^. PETITION NO. 88-65.
The Board of Supervisors of the County of Los Angeles, State of
California, hereby finds, determines and resolves;
That public Interest and convenience require that the
benefited territory hereinafter described, all of which territory
lies in the County of Los Angeles, be annexed to, and It is the
intention of the Board of Supervisors to order that it be annexed
to, Included within, and hereafter be a part of County LTgting
Maintenance District No« 17U4-» pursuant to and In accordance
with sections 5857 e^ seq* of the Streets and Highways Code of
the State of California, as amended.
2. The territory proposed to be so annexed consists
of the area Included within boundaries described as follows;

Beginning at the southeasterly corner of Lot 7 of Tract No. 7658
as shown on map recorded In 8ook 697 pages 95 md 96 of Maps,
In the office of the Recorder of the County of Los Angeles?
thence westerly, northerly and westerly along the boundary of
said tract to the southwesterly corner of Lot I of said tract;
thence westerly along the westerly prolongation of the south-
erly line of said last mentioned lot to the center fine of
Barnes Avenue as shown on said map; thence northerly along said
center line to the westerly prolongation of the northerly line
of Lot 25 of said tract; thence easterly along said prolonga-
tion and continuing easterly, northerly and easterly along the
boundary of said tract to the northeasterly corner of Lot l8 of
said tract; thence easterly in a direct line to the northwesterly
corner of Lot 17 of said tract; thence easterly and southerly
along the boundary of said tract to the point of beginning.

The Board of Supervisors hereby fixes______________,

Hearing Room of the Board of Supervisors, Room 581, Hall of Admin-
istration, 500 West Temple Street corner of Temple Street and
Grand Avenue), Los Angeles 12, California, as the place, for hearing
upon the question of annexation of said territory, when and where
any and all persons having objections to the proposed annexation
or to the Inclusion of any property within the proposed annexation,
may appear before said Board of Supervisors and show cause why
said proposed annexation should not be made in accordance with this
resolution of intention*
The Clerk is hereby directed to cause notice of the time,
place and purpose of said hearing to be published once a week for
two successive weeks in the_____________________________,
a newspaper of general circulation which the Board of Supervisors
deems most likely to give notice of said hearing to the inhabitants
of said district and of said territory proposed to be annexed; and
to cause notices of said hearing to be posted not less than 10
days prior to the date set for the hearing In three conspicuous
places within the territory proposed to be annexed and within
said County Lighting Maintenance District No. 17U+; and to cause
postcard notices to be mailed to all inhabitants of the area to
be annexed to said County Lighting Maintenance District, all in
the form and manner prescribed in section 5858 of the Streets and
Highways Code.
