RESOLUTION GRANTING CONSENT AND JURIS-
DICTION TO THE COUNTY OF LOS ANGELES
IN THE MATTER OF COUNTY LIGHTING
MAINTENANCE DISTRICT NO. \IM
PETITION NO. 88-6^
WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors of the County of Los
Angeles is about to commence proceedings under Division 7 of the
Streets and Highways Code, for the annexation of territory to County
Lighting Maintenance District No. 1744: and
WHEREAS, the proposed annexation will have street tights
installed in the City of Ba^dwl^ Park; and
WHEREAS, all of th® land inctused in the proposed annexa-
tion lies within the boundary of the City of BajdwinParj<.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Baldwin Park as follows:
SECTION j
That the public interest, convenience end necessity require
the maintenance of a street lighting system located within said
territory as shown on the maps of the annexation to County Lighting
Maintenance District No. 7,44 approved by the County Boundary Commis-
sion on September 25. J_^?- a^ 0° ln t-he office of the
Road Conmissloner, as set forth in the proposed Resolution of Inten-
tion of the 9oard of Supervisors of the County of Los Angeles for
this annexation, a copy of which resolution, incomplete as to dates
and similar information which can only be inserted at the t?me of
adoption. Is attached hereto and made a part hereof.
SECTION
That this City Council hereby consents to the annexation
of said territory as described in said proposed Resolution of Inten-
tion, included within the boundaries of said annexation, and lying
wfthin the boundary of the City of Baldwin Park.
That this City Council hereby finds and determines that the
lands included within the boundary of the proposed annexation as set
forth in said proposed Resolution of Intention, tying within the
boundary of th« City of Baldwin Park. will be benefited by the said
proposed annexation to the maintenance district, and hereby consents
to the inclusion of said lands within the proposed annexation and to
the assessment thereof.
SECTION 4
That the consent of this City Council is hereby given to
the commencement of the proceedings for said annexation to County
Lighting Maintenance District No. 1744 by the Board of Supervisors
of the County of Los Angeles, and to the exercise of exclusive
jurisdiction of said Board of Supervisors over all proceedings neces-
sary thereto for the purpose of consummating the same, all in accord-
ance with the provisions of Division 7 of the Streets and Highways
Code.

That the Clerk of the City Council is hereby directed to
certify and deliver two copies of this resolution to the Cierk of
the Board of Supervisors of the County of Los Angeles.

RESOLUTION OF INTENTION TO ANNEX TERRITORY TO
COUNTY LIGHTING MAINTENANCE DISTRICT NO. JJM
PETITION NO. 88-63
The Board of Supervisors of the County of Los Angeles, State of
Cali forni a, hereby f inds, determines and resolves:
1. That public interest and convenience require that the
benefited territory hereinafter described^ alt of which territory
lies in the County of Los Angeles, be annexed to, and it is the
intention of the Board of Supervisors to order that it be annexed
to, included within, and hereafter be a part of County Lighting
Maintenance District No. 1744^ pursuant to and in accordance with
sections 5857 et seq. of the Streets and Highways Code of the State
of California, as amended.
2. The territory proposed to be so annexed consists of the
area included within boundaries described as follows:

Parcel A
beginning at the most westerly corner of Lot 15 of Tract No.
26629 as shown on map recorded in Book 695, pages 45 and 46 of
Aaps, in the office of the Recorder of the County of Los Angeles;
thence northerly in a direct line through the northwesterly corner
of Lot II of said tract to the center line of Clearcrest Drive as
shown on said map; thence northeasterly along said center tine to
the westerly prolongation of the northerly line of Lot 9 of said
tract; thence easterly In a direct tine to the northeasterly corner
f Lot I of said tract; thence easterly in a direct line to the
northwesterly corner of Lot 8 of Tract No. 10755 as shewn on map
recorded in Book 254, pages 58 and 59 of said Maps; thence easterly
long the northerly tine of said last mentioned lot to the westerly
tine of Lot 9 of Tract No. 21750 as shown on map recorded in Book
388, pages 66 and 67 of said Maps; thence southerly in a direct line
to the northwesterly corner of Lot i of Tract No. 26757 as shown on

westerly and southerly along the boundary of Baldwin Park Lighting
District as same existed on September 5, 1963 to the southerly
boundary of said Tract No. 26629; thence westerly along said southerly
boundary to the point of beginning.
Parcel B
Beginning at the southeasterly corner of Lot 7 of Tract No. 27659
as shown on map recorded in Book 697, pages 95 and 96 of Maps, in
the office of the Recorder of the County of Los Angeles; thence
westerly, northerly and westerly along the boundary of said tract
to the southwesterly corner of Lot I of said tract; thence westerly
along the westerly prolongation of the southerly line of said last
mentioned lot to the center line of Barnes Avenue as shown on said
map; thence northerly along said center line to the westerly pro-
longation of the northerly line of Lot 25 of said tract; thence csterly
along said prolongation and continuing easterly, northerly and
easterly along the boundary of said tract to the northeasterly corner
of Lot 18 of said tract; thence easterly in a direct line to the
northwesterly corner of Lot 17 of said tract; thence easterly and
southerly along the boundary of said tract to the point of beginning.

The Board of Supervisors hereby fixes________________,

hour, and the Hearing Room of the Board of Supervisors, Room 591, Hall
of Administration, 500 West Temple Street corner of Temple Street and
Grand Avenue), Los Angeles 12, California, as the place, for hearing
upon the question of annexation of said territory, when and where any
and all persons having objections to the proposed annexation or to the
inclusion of any property within the proposed annexation, may appear
before said Board of Supervisors and show cause why said proposed
annexation should not be made in accordance with this resolution of
i n t en t i on.
The Clerk is hereby directed to cause notice of the time,
place and purpose of said hearing to be published once a week for
two successive weeks in the____
a newspaper of general circulation which the Board of Supervisors deems
most likely to give notice of said hearing to the inhabitants of said
district and of said territory proposed to be annexed; and to cause
notices of said hearing to be posted not less than 10 days prior to
the date set for the hearing in three conspicuous places within the
territory proposed to be annexed and within said County Light ing Maintenanc
District No. 1244:; and to cause postcard notices to be mailed to all
inhabitants of the area to be annexed to said County Lighting Main-
tenance District, all in the form and manner prescribed in section
5858 of the Streets and Highways Code.

The City Clerk shalt certify to the passage of this
resolution by the City Council of the City of B^dvyin Park end
shall cause the same to be posted in three 5) conspicuous places
in the City of Baldwin Park. and it shall thereupon take effect.
PASSED AND APPROVED this 4th day of December, 1963.
