HomeMy WebLinkAbout1966 022 CC RESO1966 022 CC RESOxJÖn RESOLUTION NO. 66-22 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BALDWIN PARK CALLING AND GIVING NOTICE OF TIE HOLDING OF A GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION TO BE HELD IN SAID CITY ON TUESDAY, THE 1STH DAY OF APRIL, 1966, FOR THE ELECTION OF CERTAIN OFFICERS OF SAID CITY AS REQUIRED BY THE PRO- VISIONS OF WE LAWS OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA. RELATING TO GENERAL LAW CITIES THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BALDWIN PARK DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: WHEREAS, under the provisions of the laws relating to General Law Cities In the State of California, a regular general municipal election shall be held on the 12th day of April, 1966, for the election of two 2) members of the City Council of said City for the full term of four years. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BALDWIN PARK. CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS; SECTION That pursuant to the requirements of the laws of the State of California relating to General Law Cities within said State, there shall be, and there Is hereby called and ordered, held in the City of Baldwin Park, County of Los Angeles, State of California, on Tuesday, the I2th day of April, 1966, a regular general municipal election of the qualified electors of said City for the purpose of electing two 2) members of the City Council of said City for the full term of four years, SECTION 2. That the ballots to be used at said election shall be, both as to form and matter corvt-ained therein, such as may be required by law to be used thereat. SECTION 5. That the City Clerk of said City is hereby authorized. Instructed and directed to procure and furnish any and all official ballots, notices, printed matter and alt supplies, equipment and paraphernalia that may be necessary in order to properly and lawfully conduct said election. SECTION That for the purpose of holding said regular general municipal election, there snail be and are hereby established twenty-three 25) voting precinct's consisting of consolidations of rhe regular election precincts In 1'he City of Baldwin Park established for the holding of state and county elecHons., as said regular election precincts exist on the date of adoption of this resolution. That The polling places for the respective precincts shall be the places hereinafter designated; and that the persons hereinafter n^med, being competent and qualified electors and residents of said City and of their respective voting precincts, ore hereby appointed officers of election for their respective voiIng precincts and they shall hold said election and m^ke return thereof in the manner provided by law* That attached h^rcio^ narked Exhibit A", and incorporated herein by this ref9rence as if set forth in full, are the polling places for the respective precincts at the places named on said Exhibit A", and that the persons named on said Exhibit A" are hereby appointed as officers of said election. SECTION 5, That the compensation for the persons hereinbefore named as election officers is hereby fixed at the sum of $19.00 for each Inspector and $l6,00 for eoch Judge and Clerk for said election. The rental for each of such polling places, where a charge is made, shall be the sum o-f $15*00 for said election. When required, the compensation of the Custodian of a building shall be $15,00 for said election. Members of the board for the canvassing of Absentee ballots shall be $5.00 for said election. That the polls for said election shall be open at seven o'clock A.M. of the day of sold election and shall remain open continuously from said time until seven o'clock P.M, of the same day when said polls shall be closed, except as provided Tn Section l2+t+56 of the Elections Code of the State of Californig. SECTION 7. That in all particulars not recited in this Resolution, so?d election shall be held and conducted as pro- vided by law for holding municipal elections In said City. SECTION 8. That notice of the time and place of holding said election is hereby given and the City Clerk Is hereby authorized. Instructed and directed to g7ve such further or additional notice of said election In time, form and manner os required by law. SECTION 9< Thot the City Clerk shall certify to the pes^^ge and adoption of this Resolution; shall enter the same In the book of original Resolutions of sold City( end shall make a minute of the passage end adoption thereof In the records of the proceedings of the City Council of said City, In the minutes of the meeting et which the same Is passed and adopted* SECTION 10. That this Resolution shall take effect Immediately. 966.
