A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF BALDWIN PARK DENYING A
ZONE CHANGE FROM ZONE R-l SINGLE
FAMILY RESIDENTIAL) TO ZONE R-2
LIGHT /VDLTIPLE RESIDENTIAL ON
CERTAIN REAL PROPERTY LOCATED AT
5779 NORTH FOSTER AVENUE. APPLICANT:
H.C. SUTTERF1ELD; CASE NO. Z-288)
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BALDWIN PARK DOES HEREBY RESOLVE
AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the City Council of the City of Baldwin Park does
hereby find and determine as follows:
el That on the 25rd day of February, 1966, the Planning Commis-
sion held a duty noticed public hearing on the application
for a change of zone from Zone R-l single family residential)
to Zone R-2 light multiple residential) on certain hereafter
described property; and
b) That the property to which said zone change relates is located
at 3779 North Foster Avenue, in the City of Baldwin Park,
County of Los Angeles, State of California, more particularly
described as:
Tract 8805, Lot No. 16 5779 Foster Avenue; and
Lots I and 2 of Tentative Tract Map No. 25587 a
subdivision of Lot 15, Tract 8805, M. B. I»6, pages
1 and 2)
c» That the Commission denied said application; and
d) That a duly noticed hearing was conducted by the City Council
upon the appeal from the Planning Commission's decision; and
e) That as a result of the evidence presented at said hearing,
and each member of the Council being familiar with the property,
it was determined that the public interest does not require such
reel assi f icat ion.
SECTION 2. That the change of zone from Zone R-l to Zone R-2, as above
described, is hereby denied, for the following reasons:
a) That the proposed use will not be compatible with, and will
have an adverse effect upon, abutting and adjacent properties
located in the City of Baldwin Park; and
b) That the characteristics of the area are not favorable to an
R-2 type residential use; and
c) That the proposed reel eastfication-wouid create spot zoning of
the subject property.
SECTION 3. That the City Clerk shell certify to the adoption of this
resolution and forward a copy hereof to the applicant and to the Secretary
of the Planning Commission.
