A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF BALDWIN PARK APPROVING
A VARIANCE. APPLICANT: AMERICAN
OIL COMPANY; G. H, SANOQUIST, AGENT.
CASE NO. ZV-148)
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BALDWIN PARK DOES HEREBY RESOLVE
AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I. The City Council of the City of Baldwin Park does
hereby find and determine as follows:
a) That on March 9, 1966, the Board of Zoning Adjustments
held a duly noticed public hearing on the application
for a Variance to permit the construction and use of an
on-site free standing sign in excess of the maximum sign
face area and height limitation permitted in the C-2 heavy
commercial I Zone; and
b» That the property to which said Variance relates is located
at 15755 Franclsquito Avenue, in the City of Baldwin Park,
County of Los Angeles, State of California, more particularly
described ass
That portion of the westerly half of the southerly half
of Lot 29 of El Monte Walnut Place, in the County of Los
Angeles, State of California, as per map recorded in Book
6, page 104 of Maps, in the office of the County Recorder
of said County; and
c) That the Board of Zoning Adjustments determined that the facts
required by Section 9471 of the Baldwin Park Municipal Code
are present,
d) That an appeal from the Board of Zoning Adjustment's decision
was made, and the Council conducted a duty noticed hearing upon
such appeal, and based upon the evidence presented, it was
determined the facts required by Section 9471 of the Baldwin
Park Municipal Code, were present.
SECTION 2. That the Variance for the construction and use of a free
standing sign as described above, is hereby approved, subject to the follow-
ing condi t ions:
a) That the applicant shall comply with all structural codes of
the City of Baldwin Park relative to said sign; and
b) That the proposed free standing sign shall be limited to a
maximum height of 45 ft. from finished grade, and shall not
exceed a total of 227.50 square feet of sign face area; and
c) That the proposed sign shall comply with Exhibit A", and shall
not cause any glitter or reflection of light upon structures or
buildings located on the adjacent or abutting properties; and
dl That the applicant shall sign an affidavit that he has read
and understands all conditions of approval for the Zone Vari-
ance before a Building Permit will be issued; and
e\ That the proposed free standing sign shall be placed on the
property in such a manner so as not to encroach in, over or
upon the public righto-of-way; and
f» That the sign face illumination shall be restricted, in terms
of reflective candlepower, in a manner so as to eliminate any
nuisance to surrounding or adjacent properties, and to prevent
interference with vehicular traffic; such illumination shall
be approved by the Planning Director so as to comply with
purpose of this condition^ provided that if the applicant is
dissatisfied with Director's determination, he shall have the
right of appeal to this Council by means of the modification
procedure set forth in the Baldwin Park Municipal Code.

gl That the Variance shall become null end void if the use
permitted thereunder is not exercised within six 6»
months after the date such Variance is granted.
SECTION 5. The City Cterk shall certify to the adoption of this
resolution and forward a copy hereof to the applicant and to the Secretary
of the Board of Zoning Adjustments.
