The City Council of the City of Baldwin Park does hereby RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE and ORDER as follows; SECTION 1. SALARIES OF APPOINTIVE OFFICERS AND EMPLOYEES The salaries of appointive officers and employees, not otherwise prescribed, shall be as follows, effective July 1, 1966. A. FIXED ADMINISTRATIVE SERIES POSITION SALARY 1. Chief Administrative Officer $1450.00 per month 2. Director of Civil Defense 162.00 per month 3. Administrative Aide 450.00 per month 4. Crossing Guards 1.75 per hour 5. Student Draftsman-Planning Intern 2.00 per hour 6. Deputy City Clerk 2) 25.00 per month 7. Deputy City Treasurer 25.00 per month 8. SCHEDULE LUMBERS, The column headed Schedule Numbers" contains a list of the schedule numbers assigned to the various positions in the classified series. B. PAY STEPS, The columns headed A", B'\ C", D'\ and E*1 and entitled Pay Steps" contain the basic monthly rates for each of the positions in the classified series. Step A" represents the starting level of pay. C. ANNIVERSARY DATES. The period of satisfactory service toward step advancement shall begin on the anniversary date. Anniversary dates shall fall on the 1st and 15th day of the month for all entry steps, step increases, reclassifications or promotions, whichever is closest to the actual date the employee commences work or is advanced. D. RE CLASSIFICATION AND PROMOTION. Any employe® who is reclassified or promoted to a position having a higher schedule number than the position he occupies shall commence work in the higher schedule at a pay step that is a minimum of 5% increase above the rate of pay he was receivijag when re- classified or promoted. Conversely, any employee who is re- classified downward shall begin work in the lower schedule at a pay step equal to the rate of pay he was receiving when reclassified. SECTION 3. DIFFERSMTIAL PAY. Whenever the work week for an officer or employee consists of one of the following, the basic salary for such officer or employee shall be adjusted as hereinafter indicated. ASSIGNMENT ADD 1. Motor Officer 5% of current salary 2. Investigator or Detective 5% of current salary 3. Detective Sergeant 5% of current salary 4. Dog Handler 5% of current salary SECTION 4, OVERTIME. Any employee required to work overtime shall be compensated by equivalent time off as full compensation for the overtime worked. Member of the Public Works field crew up to and including the position of Foreman shall be paid one and one-half tiroes their prescribed rate of pay for emergency overtime. 2. Police officers shall be paid their prescribed rate of pay for authorized overtime, except on holidays they shall receive an extra day's pay. 3. The Minute Clerk taking minutes at any regular, special or executive meeting of the City Council, Planning Commission or Board of Zoning Adjustments shall be paid his or her prescribed rate of pay for such overtime while required to attend and perform such duties. SECTION 5. PAY PERIODS, There shall be two pay periods in every month. The first pay period shall be from the 1st through the 15th of the month? the second pay period shall be from the 16th through the last day of the month. SECTION 6. DATRg WHEN SALARIES ARE TO BE PAID. Salaries and compensation earned during the second pay period shall be paid on the 5th day of the following month; salaries and compensation earned during the first pay period shall be paid on the 20th day of the month. When City offices are to be closed on the 5th or 20th days of the month, salaries and compensation shall be paid on the next preceding day on which City offices are open. SECTION 7. Nothing contained in this resolution shall be construed as guaranteeing to any employee or official of the City any vested interest in any salary or position. SECTION 8.
