HomeMy WebLinkAbout1966 152 CC RESO1966 152 CC RESOàKÒbRESOLUTION NO. 66-152 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BALDWIN PARK ORDERING THE WORK AND ACQUISITION AND DIRECTING THE PUBLICATION OF NOTICE INVITING BIDS AND SCALE OF PREVAILING WAGES IN CONNECTION WITH ASSESSMENT DISTRICT 66-1 JERRY AVENUE) WHEREAS, the Cl+y Council of the City of Baldwin Park, did on the l^th day of May, 1966, adopt its Resolution of Intention No. 66-121 to order the therein described acquisitions, work and Improvements to be done and made In connection with Assessment District 66-1, which Resolution of Intention No. 66-121 was duly and legally published In the time, form and manner as required by law, shown by the Affidavit of Pub IIcatlon of said Resolution of Intention on file in the office of the City Clerks and WHEREAS, after the adoption thereof, notices of the passage of said Resolution of Intention, headed Notice of Improvement" was duly and legally posted in the time, form, manner, locations and number as required by law, as appears from the Affidavit of Posting said notices, on file in the office of the City Clerk; and WHEREAS, after the adoption thereof, notices of the adoption of Resolution of Intention were duly mailed to a 11 persons owning real property proposed to be assessed for the improvements described in said Resolution of Intention No. 66-121, according to the names and addresses of such owners, as the same appear on the last equalized assessment roll for taxes prior to the day of such mailing, or as known to the City Clerk, which said copies were duly mailed In the time, form and manner as required by law, as appears from the affidavit of Mat I Ing on file herein; and WHEREAS, said City Council having duly received and considered evidence oral and documentary concerning the jurisdiction facts in this proceeding and concerning the necessity for the contem- plated acquisition, work and improvement and the benefits to be derived therefrom, and s^Id City Council having now acquired jurisdiction to order the proposed improvement; SECTION I. IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Baldwin Park that the public Interest and convenience require the acquisitions and improvement referred to In said Resolution No. 66-121, end said City Council hereby orders that the acquisition, work and improvement, as set forth and described in said Resolution of Intent-ton No. 66-121, and In the plans end specifications incorporated therein, be done and made; and SECTION 2. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the boundaries of the Assessment District, and the grades to which said work and mprovements are to be constructed, shall be those set forth and described In said Resolution of Intention No. 66-121, and In the plans and specifications Incorporated therein, reference to which Is hereby made for all further particulars. SECTION 5. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the work contemplated under Resolution No, 66-I2i be, and the same is hereby, ordered to be done under the direction of the Street Superintendent, and the materials used shall comply with the specifications and be to the satisfaction of the Street Superintendent, directing that the contract to be entered into for said Improvement shall contain provisions to such effect. SECTION 1+. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the assessment to be made In said proceedings shall be made and signed by the Superin- tendent of Streets. SECTION 5. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said City Council, pursuant to the provisions of Section 1775 of e Labor Code, has determined and established the general prevailing rate of per diem wages for each type of craft or workman needed to execute or perform the necessary work or improvement In accordance with the schedule appended hereto and described Schedule of Per Diem Wage Rates", which said Schedule Is hereby adopted herein by reference. SECTION 7. BE IT FURTHER RESOL\€D that said Schedule of For Diem Wage Rates*1 be embodied in the Notice Inviting Sealed Bids and all contract documents in connection with said work and improvement hereinabove described. SECTION 6. BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the time hereby fixed for receiving sealed proposals or bids for the doing of said work and the making of said Improvements herein ordered i« the Itth day of July, 1966, at the hour of 2;50 P. M. and said bids will be then publicly opened by the City Cterk and declared in the CouncT I Chambers in the City Hall of the City of Baldwin Park» the City Council will receive and consider such bids at 7s50 P. M. on July 20, 1966, at the City Council meeting in saTd Council Chambers.
