A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF BALDWIN PARK COMMENDING
THE BALDWIN PAR!< HIGH SCHOOL GYM-
NASTICS TErvA AND THEIR COACH, JOHN
DRAGH1, UPON WINNING THEIR SIXTH
CONSECUTIVE TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP OF
THE SOUTHERN SECTION OF THE CALIF-
ORNIA INTERSCHOLASTIC FEDERATION
WHEREAS, the Gymnastics team of Baldwin Park High School
recently won their sixth consecutive championship of the Southern
Section of the California tnterscholastic Federation, and
WHEREAS, no athletic team has ever before won six con-
secutive team championships in Southern Section C.I.F. athletic
compeli t ion, and
WHEREAS, this outstanding achievement has brought
favorable and widespread recognition to Baldwin Perk High School
and to the City of Baldwin Park.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Baldwin
Park does resolve as follows:
SECTION I. The most sincere congratulations is hereby
accorded to the Baldwin Park High School gymnastics team for its
outstanding accomplishment during the 1965-1966 school year and to
Coach John Draghi for achieving the unparalleled record of guiding
gymnastics teams at Baldwin Park High Schools to six consecutive
Southern Section C.f.F. CHAMPIONSHIPS.
SECTION 2. The City Council of the City of Baldwin
Park hereby expresses its appreciation for the favorable publicity
that has come to the members of the gymnastics teem and their
coach, John Draghi, to Baldwin Park High School, and to the City
of Baldwin Park for this singular honor.
SECTION 5. Copies of this resolution shall be distributed
to each member of the Baldwin Park High School gymnastics team and
their coach, to the Board of Directors and the Superintendent of the
Baldwin Park Unified School District, and to the Principal of the
Baldwin Park High School.
ADOPTED by the City Council, signed by the Mayor and
attested by the City Clerk this 1st day of June, 1966.
