A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF BALDWIN PARK REQUESTING THE
BOARD OF SUPERVISORS, AND THE LOCAL
AGENCY FORMATION COMMISSION OF LOS ANGELES
COUNTY, TO TAKE THE STEPS NECESSARY TO
DISSOLVE THE BALDWIN PARK PARKS AND
RECREATION DISTRICT.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BALDWIN PARK DOES
RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the City Council of the City of Baldwin
Park does hereby find, determine and declare as follows:
a) That the City Council of the City of
Baldwin Park has, based upon competent staff
appraisals, determined that this City and the
Cities of Irwindale, Industry and West Covina,
are fully capable of providing recreation facili-
ties and services to persons now residing within
the Baldwin Park Parks and Recreation District; and
b) That with the exception of the City of
Baldwin Park, all other cities within which are
located portions of said District, have their
own municipal park and recreation departments,
each of which is fully staffed to provide, at a
lesser cost, recreation facilities to their
residents; and
c) That the City of Baldwin Park, if said
Recreation District is dissolved will establish
a municipal recreation department and will sup-
port the same so as to provide the same high level
services now performed by County personnel; and
d) That the members of the Advisory Board
of the Baldwin Park Parks and Recreation District
have concurred in this request to dissolve said
District and to permit the affected cities to
perform the recreation services as required; and
e) That it is in the public interest to
dissolve said District and to complete said dis-
solution without holding an election within the
District, since all municipalities affected have
heretofore agreed to such dissolution.
SECTION 2. That the members of the Board of Supervisors
of the County of Los Angeles, and the members of the Local
Agency Formation Commission, are hereby requested to initiate
and prosecute, the steps necessary to cause a dissolution of the
Baldwin Park Park and Recreation District without an election.
SECTION 3. That the City Clerk shall certify to the
adoption of this Resolution and forward copies hereof to
the Secretary of the Board of Supervisors, the Secretary of
the Local Agency Formation Commission and to the City Clerks
