HomeMy WebLinkAbout1966 246 CC RESO1966 246 CC RESO ×Pò& RESOLUTION NO. 66-246 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BALDWIN PARK DENYING A ZONE CHANGE FROM ZONE C-2 TO ZONE M-1 ON CERTAIN REAL PROPERTY LOCATION: 12741, 12755 AND 12767 GARVEY AVENUE. APPLICANT: PAUL EDWARDS, ET AL. CASE NO. Z-293) THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BALDWIN PARK DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION I. That the City Council of the City of Baldwin Park does hereby find and determine as follows: a. That on the 24th day of August, 1966, the Planning Commission held a duly noticed public hearing on the application for a change of zone from Zone C-2 heavy commercial) to Zone M-1 light manufacturing) on certain hereafter described property; and b. That the property to which said zone change relates is located at 12741, 12755 and 12767 Garvey Avenue in the City of Baldwin Park, County of Los Angeles, State of California, more particularly described as: Lots I, 3, 4 and 6 of Tract No. 10953 as recorded in Map Book 8550, page 21, in the Assessment Roll of Property in the County of Los Angeles, California, for the year 1966; and c. That the property owner of Lot 1, which is a part of the reclassification request, has heretofore requested that her property be withdrawn from the application; and d. That the said request was denied by the said Commission, and thereafter said decision was appealed to the City Council; and e. That after conducting a public hearing upon said matter, the Council determined that the Commission's decision should be upheld; and f. That the property requested for reclassification is not suitable for the same, and will adversely affect the public interest. SECTION 2. That the change of zone from Zone C-2 to Zone M-I as above described, is hereby denied, based on the findings as follows: a. That the proposed use will not be compatible with, and will have an adverse effect upon abutting and adjacent properties located in the City of Baldwin Park; and b. That the proposed use would not be in keeping with the General Plan for land use in this area. SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption hereof, and forward a certified copy of this resolution to the applicant and to the Secretary of the Planning Commission.
