1. CONSENT CALENDAR
All items listed are considered to be routine business by the City Council and will be approved with one motion. There will be no
separate discussion of these items unless a Council Member so requests, in which event, the item will be removed from the General
Order of Business and considered in its normal sequence on the Agenda.

B. CLAIMS AND DEMANDS
Recommendation: Waive further reading, read by title only, and adopt Resolution No.
2000-78 entitled, A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF BALDWIN PARK ALLOWING CLAIMS AND DEMANDS
AGAINST THE CITY OF BALDWIN PARK". Councilman William Bill"
Van Cleave abstained on all warrants to Mr. Bill's Hardware financial
conflict of interest).
C. CLAIM REJECTIONS
Recommendation: City Council reject the claims of Henry Hwang 99 021 B); Obdulia
Contreras 99 026B); and Melecia Aguirre 99 015A), and direct staff to
send the appropriate rejection letter to claimants.
D. DECLARING CITY COUNCIL OPPOSITION UNLESS AMENDED) TO AB 2544 WATER
QUALITY AUTHORITY ACT
Recommendation: City Council declare its opposition unless amended) to AB 2544, which if
approved as written, would limit the city's influence on the allocation of
funds. In addition, the bill will limit the city's influence in the Authority's
decision-making process on important issues.
E. EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS CONSULTANT AGREEIvENT IRV DAWSON
Recommendation: Approve an agreement with Irven Dawson in an amount not to exceed
$29,681. for emergency preparedness consultant services to July 31,
2001.

Recommendation: Accept nominations and upon selection of Commissioners; extend terms
of office for Office Nos. 1 and 2 to June 30, 2004; and waive further
reading and adopt Resolution No. 2000-67 entitled, A RESOLUTION
OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BALDWIN PARK AMENDING
RESOLUTION NO. 98-99 RELATING TO THE APPOINTMENT OF
MEMBERS TO THE PERSONNEL COMMISSION".
B. PLANNING COMMISSION APPOINTMENTS AND/OR REAPPOINTMENTS Confd from 7/19/00)
Recommendation: Accept nominations and upon selection of Commissioners, waive further
reading and adopt Resolution No. 2000-69 entitled, A RESOLUTION
OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BALDWIN PARK AMENDING
RESOLUTION NO. 2000-20 RELATING TO THE APPOINTMENT OF
MEMBERS TO THE PLANNING COMMISSION".
C. EXTENSION OF CONTRACT GRANT WRITING CONSULTANT SERVICES Confd from 7/12/00)
Recommendation: Approve a six-month extension to December 30, 2000, to the agreement
between the City and Shaunna dark in the amount of $500. per month,
plus $75. per hour for grant writing fees on an as needed basis, for
providing grant writing consultant services.
D. PROPOSED SUPPORT OF LEGISLATION SB 1501 AND SB 1607
Recommendation: City Council discuss and provide direction to staff for communicating the
City Council's position on proposed legislation, SB 1501 and SB 1607.
