RESOLUTION NO. 84-14
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF BALDWIN PARK IN TRIBUTE
TO BALDWIN PARK POLICE SERGEANT
DENNIS KIES
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BALDWIN PARK
AS FOLLOWS:
WHEREAS, Sergeant Dennis Kies, a member of the Baldwin Park Police
Department, was regularly assigned in this capacity on the morning of
January 23, 1984 at 3461 Barnes Avenue in the City of Baldwin Park; and
WHEREAS, in the course of responding to assist the Los Angeles
County Fire Department, Rescue 29, on a call of a baby not breathing";
and
WHEREAS, in the course of arrival, found an infant child, Anthony
Sanchez, in the mother's arms, not breathing and discolored, unmediately
began C.P.R. and mouth to mouth resuscitation and continued giving aid,
until Paramedics arrived and relieved Sergeant Kies; and
WHEREAS, Sergeant Dennis Kies has distinguished himself as a
respected law enforcement officer, who's actions and quick response
ultimately saved the life of Anthony Sanchez is in keeping with the highest
standards of law enforcement.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF BALDWIN PARK, in recognition of this event, pay tribute to Sergeant
Dennis Kies proclaimed this 15th day of February, 1984.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Clerk shall certify to the
passage and adoption of this Resolution.
