A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
BALDWIN PARK APPROVING A RECREATION
ELEMENT TO THE GENERAL PLAN CASE NO.
AGP-70).
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BALDWIN PARK DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS
FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the City Council of the City of Baldwin Park does
hereby find and determine as follows:
a) That the City of Baldwin Park in wishing to establish
official City policies pertaining to recreational facilities desires to
adopt a Recreational Element for the General Plan; and
b) That because the Open Space Element of said Plan contains
policies and technical information closely related to and includes recreational
issues, that the Open Space Element should be amended to include a Recreation
Element; and
c) That recreational issues and opportunities have been
identified and goats, objectives, policies and programs have been recommended;
and
d) That the Planning Commission has recommended approval of
said Recreational Element and
e) That the City Council has conducted a noticed public
hearing on said matter and has determined that the public interest requires
the approval of Case No. AGP-70 to amend the Open Space Element of the General
Plan, by adding to it a Recreation Element.
f) That the amendment as proposed is consistent with the
purposes and intent of the General Plan; and
g) That the proposed amendment, as above described, is
in the public interest and will promote the general welfare.
SECTION 2. That the City Council at the time of the public hearing on the
above matter reviewed and considered the proposed Negative Declaration, and comments
relating thereto. That the City Council, based upon its public review, does hereby
approve the proposed Negative Declaration, since there is not substantial evidence
that the project will have a significant effect on the environment.
SECTION 3. That the Recreation Element of the City's General Plan as
above described, be, and hereby is approved.
SECTION 4. That the City Clerk shall cause the approved Negative Declara-
tion to be filed, and shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution.
APPROVED and ADOPTED this 2nd day of January 7 1985.
