A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF BALDWIN PARK TO AUTHORIZE THE
ESTABLISHMENT OF A UNIFORM TEMPORARY
OFF-SITE SUBDIVISION DIRECTIONAL TRACT
SIGN PROGRAM.
WHEREAS, there exists an urgent need to end the proliferation of
unapproved subdivision directional signs in the City of Baldwin Park;
and
WHEREAS, the City Council approved Ordinance No- 901 on June 19,
1985, thereby establishing provisions for creation of a comprehensive
City-wide sign program for subdivision identification; and
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 901 directs that such a sign program shall
be established by a contract authorizing a designated group or indivi-
dual to provide said sign program; and
WHEREAS, the Baldy View Chapter of the Building Industry Associ-
ation, a not-for-profit trade orgainization that represents commercial,
industrial and residential builders and developers has requested
authorization to administer and provide such a subdivision identifica-
tion program; and
WHEREAS, the Building Industry Association has sufficient re-
sources and willingness to adminsiter said sign program on a not-for-
profit basis; and at no cost to the City of Baldwin Park.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City
of Baldwin Park does hereby authorize the Baldy View Chapter of the
Building Industry Association to administer and coordinate said sign
program in the City of Baldwin Park; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Building Industry Association will
designate sign locations, application procedures and sign contents in
accordance with the requirements 0:1? Ordinance No, 901 and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Community Services Department
shall approve all sign locations and the sign program, and will consult
with said Department, and such other appropriate agencies as may be re-
quired to review said sign program prior to approval; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council at its discretion may
review the overall sign program and cause any changes it sees fit to be
made to ensure the continued provision or removal of said subdivision
identification program.
