A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF BALDWIN PARK, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING THE
SUBMITTAL OF AN APPLICATION TO THE CALIFORNIA
DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION FOR A FUEL
EFFICIENT TRAFFIC SIGNAL MANAGEMENT GRANT
WHEREAS, the City of Baldwin Park recognizes that it
is in the interest of the national economy to promote the
conservation of energy resources and to reduce our nation's
dependence on costly foreign oil; and
WHEREAS, fuel efficient traffic signal management by
the City of Baldwin Park will provide benefits to the local
community in the form of improved traffic flow, reduced fuel
consumption, reduced vehicle operating costs, reduced air
pollutant emmissions, and improved safety due to smoother
flow; and
WHEREAS/ funds' have
available through the California
for grants to local governments

WHEREAS/ this proj ect is categorically exempt
pursuant to Section 15301, Class 1 of the California
Environmental Quality Act of 1970.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council
of the City of Baldwin Park authorize the submittal of an
application to the California Department of Transportation for
a Fuel Efficient Traffic Signal Management grant and the
Director of Community Services of the City of Baldwin Park is
hereby authorized and empowered to execute in the name of the
City of Baldwin Park all necessary applicatons to implement
and carry out the purposes specified in this resolution.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Clerk shall
certify to the adoption of this Resolution.
APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 2oth/day of November, 1985
