A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF BALDWIN PARK EXPRESSING
ITS INTENTION TO JOIN THE INDEPENDENT
CITIES RISK MANAGEMENT AUTH3RITY
LIABILITY POOLING PROGRAM
WHEREAS, the City of Baldwin Park is very interested in the
Independent Cities Risk Management Authority's proposed Liability Pooling
Program as a potentially sound alternative to liability insurance; and
WHEREAS, the City of Baldwin Park is concerned about sane of the
legal and business issues raised regarding the program but anticipates that
such problems will be resolved in the near future by the joint efforts of the
participants in the Joint Powers Authority; and
WHEREAS, the Independent Cities Risk Management Authority has
requested an expression of intent from the City of Baldwin Park and other
participant cities to join the Authority's program.
NOW, THEREFORE,
BALDWIN PARK AS FOLLOWS:
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SECTION 1. The City Council of the City of Baldwin Park hereby
expresses its intent to join the Independent Cities Risk Managemsnt Authority's
Liability Pooling Program provided that the legal and business concerns raised
about the Program are resolved to the satisfaction of the Council prior to its
formal contractual comnitnent to the Program.
SECTION 2.
Resolution.
The City Clerk shall certify the adoption of this
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 7th

I, LINDA L. GAIR, City Clerk of the City of Baldwin Park do
