A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF BALDWIN PARK DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO
ESTABLISH UNDERGROUND UTILITY DISTRICT 6
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BALDWIN PARK AS FOLLOWS;
WHEREAS, by Resolution No. 86-89, a public hearing was
called for October 1, 1986, at the hour of 7:00 P.M., in the
Council Chambers in the City Hall, Baldwin Park, California, to
ascertain whether the public necessity, health, safety, or
welfare requires the removal of poles, overhead wires and
associated overhead structures, and the underground installation
of wires and facilities for supplying electric, communication, or
similar or associated service, within those certain areas of the
City of Baldwin Park, County of Los Angeles, State of California,
generally described as follows:
Underground Utility District No. 6
Please refer to Exhibits A" and B"
WHEREAS, notice of such hearing has been given to all
affected property owners as such are shown on the last equalized
assessment roll and to all utilities concerned in the manner and
within the time required by law; and
WHEREAS, such hearing has been duly and regularly
held, and all persons interested have been given an opportunity
to be heard; and
WHEREAS, the public utilities affected hereby have
agreed to pay over 50% of the cost of conversion, including costs
of users connections to underground facilities; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Baldwin Park, that pursuant to Chapter 13.08 of the
City of Baldwin Park Municipal Code, the area described herein
is hereby declared Underground Utility District, and is designated
as Underground Utility District No. 6 of the City of Baldwin Park.
Attached hereto and hereby incorporated as a part of this
Resolution, is the map delineating the boundaries of said District;
and
RESOLVED, FURTHER, that the City Council does hereby
order the removal of all poles, overhead wires and associated
overhead structures and the underground installation of wires
and facilities for supplying electric, communication, or similar
or associated service within Underground Utility District No. 6
on or before March, 1987.
RESOLVED, FURTHER, that the City Clerk is hereby
instructed to notify all affected utilities and all persons owning
real property within Underground Utility District No. 6 of the
adoption of this Resolution within ten 10) days after the date
of such adoption. Said City Clerk shall further notify said
property owners that they or such occupant shall, by the date
fixed in this Resolution, be provided with all necessary facility
changes on their premises at no cost to them so as to receive
such service from the lines of the supplying utility or utilities
at a new location, subject to applicable rules, regulations and
tariffs of the respective utility or utilities on file with the

Public Utilities Commission of the State of California. Such
notification shall be made by mailing a copy of this Resolution
together with a copy of said Chapter 13.08 of the City of
Baldwin Park Municipal Code to all affected property owners as
such are shown on the last equalized assessment roll and to the
affected utilities; and
RESOLVED/ FURTHER, that the City Council hereby finds
and determines as follows:
SECTION 1. The Underground District herein created
is in the general public interest for the following reasons:
1. The undergrounding to be accomplished will
avoid or eliminate an unusually heavy con-
centration of overhead distribution facil-
ities;
2. The streets, roads or rights of way in the
District are extensively used by the general
public and carry a heavy volume of pedestrian
or vehicular traffic;
3. The said streets, roads or rights of way
adjoin or pass through a civic area.
SECTION 2. That the City Clerk shall certify to the
adoption of this Resolution.

do hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution No. 86- was duly
adopted by the City Council of the City of Baldwin Park and approved
by the Mayor at a regular meeting thereof held on the 1st day of
October, 1986 and that the same was adopted by the following vote
to wit:

Those portions of Puente Avenue as shown on
map of El Monte Walnut Place, in the City of
Baldwin Park, County of Los Angeles, State of
California, recorded in Book 6, Page 104 of
Maps in the Office of the Recorder of said
County, and those portions of Lots 55, 56, 61
and 62 of said map of El Monte Walnut Place
described as follows:
Beginning at a point of the centerline of
Merced Avenue as shown on said map of El Monte
Walnut Place distant 923.36 feet from the
Easterly line of said El Monte Walnut Place;
thence N 48° 07' W, 74 feet, along said center-
line of Merced Avenue; thence N 41°53' E, 1000
feet, along a line parallel to said Easterly
line of El Monte Walnut Place; thence
S 48°07' E, 74 feet, along a line parallel to
said centerline of Merced Avenue; thence
S 41°53' W, 1000 feet, to the point of beginning
