A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF BALDWIN PARK AUTHORIZING THE FILING OF AN
APPLICATION WITH THE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
ADMINISTRATION, U.S. DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE
FOR A GRANT UNDER THE TERMS OF PUBLIC LAW 89-136,
AS AMENDED
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BALDWIN PARK DOES HEREBY
RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That under the terms of Public Law 89-136,
as amended, the United States of America has authorized the
making of grants to public bodies and private non-profit
organizations or associations to aid in financing the construction
of specific projects.
SECTION 2. That the City Council of the City of Baldwin
Park believes that a need exists for such assistance for a public
works improvement project which will enable the development of an
industrial and commercial center and a portion of Garvey Avenue
and to construct a new Gateway Drive to improve Athol Street.
SECTION 3. That the city Manager be authorized to
execute the Economic Development Administration, U. S.
Department of Commerce for a grant to aid in financing the
construction of that public improvement project.
SECTION 4. That the City Manager is hereby authorized
and directed to furnish such information as the Economic Development
Administration, U.S. Department of Commerce, may reasonably
request in connection with the application, which is herein
authorized to be filed, and further is authorized to accept any
offer of grant which may be tendered by the Economic Development
Administration, U.S. Department of Commerce.
SECTION 5. That the City Clerk shall certify to the
adoption of this Resolution,
APPROVED and ADOPTED this 19th day of August, 1987
