A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF BALDWIN PARK SUPPORTING STATE
SENATE BILL 292 WHICH WILL PROHIBIT THE
POSSESSION AND SALE OF ASSAULT WEAPONS
IN CALIFORNIA
WHEREAS/ the City Council of the City of Baldwin Park is
deeply concerned with the availability and use of assault weapons
in California; and
WHEREAS, the use of assault weapons in California has
led to the serious injury and death of innocent children and
adults; and
WHEREAS/ Senate Bill 292 does not intend to place
restrictions on the use of weapons which are primarily designed
and intended for hunting, target practice, or other legitimate
sports or recreational activities; and
WHEREAS, the State of California must do all it can to
protect all its citizens; and
WHEREAS, Senate Bill 292 seeks to accomplish this;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of
the City of Baldwip Park hereby urges the enactment of Senate Bill
292.
