A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BALDWIN
PARK FILLING A VACANCY ON THE
CITY COUNCIL BY APPOINTMENT OF
MARTIN GALLEGOS
WHEREAS, on April 17, 1990, Mayor pro tern Bette L. Lowes
was sworn in as Mayor of the City of Baldwin Park, and thus
created a vacancy upon the Baldwin Park City Council; and
WHEREAS, California Government Code Section 36512 requires
that the City Council either fill the vacancy by appointment or
call a special election to fill the vacancy within thirty 30)
days of the creation of the vacancy; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that it would be
in the best interest of the City of Baldwin Park to fill said
vacancy by appointment; and
WHEREAS, Martin Gallegos meets all of the requirements
of the office of councilmember for the City of Baldwin Park and
has been determined by the City Council to be best suited to
fill the vacancy.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BALDWIN
PARK DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Martin Gallegos is hereby appointed to the
City Council of the City of Baldwin Park, and to exercise all
the rights and duties thereof until the expiration of
Councilmember Lowes present term.
SECTION 2. This resolution is effective immediately upon
adoption.
PASSED AND ADOPTED ON APRIL 18, 1990.

I, LINDA L. GAIR, City Clerk of the City of Baldwin Park,
do hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and
regularly approved and adopted by the City Council of the City
of Baldwin Park at its regular meeting of the City Council on
April 18, 1990, by the following vote:
AYES COUNCILMEN MCNEILL, IZELL, KEYSER, AND MAYOR LOWES
NOES COUNCILMEN NONE
