A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF BALDWIN PARK APPROVING RENEWAL OF A FIFTH
YEAR APPLICATION FOR GRANT FUNDS FOR THE CITY
OF BALDWIN PARK GANG VIOLENCE SUPPRESSION
UNIT AND AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF
NECESSARY DOCUMENTS
WHEREAS, the City of Baldwin Park desires to continue
participation in a certain project designated as the Baldwin Park
F Police Department Gang Violence Suppression Unit", to be funded in
part from funds made available through state general funds as
authorized by Chapter 1291 of the 1982 Statutes for the Gang Violence
Suppression Unit, administered by the Office of Criminal Justice
Planning hereafter referred to as OCJP); and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Manager of the City
of Baldwin Park is authorized, on its behalf to submit a fifth year
application for grant for law enforcement purposes to OCJP and is
authorized to execute on behalf of the City of Baldwin Park a grant
award for law enforcement purposes including any extensions or
amendments thereof.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the applicant agrees to provide all
matching funds required for said project including any extension or
amendment thereof) under the Gang Violence Suppression Unit and the
rules and regulations of OCJP and that cash will be appropriated as
required thereby.
IT IS AGREED that any liability arising out of the performance
of this Grant Award Agreement, including civil court actions for
damages, shall be the responsibility of the grant recipient and the
authorizing agency. The State of California and OCJP disclaim
responsibility for any such liability.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that grant funds received hereunder shall
not be used to supplant law enforcement expenditures controlled by
this body.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Resolution No. 90-49 is hereby
repealed.
That the City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this
resolution.
