A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF BALDWIN PARK AUTHORIZING THE BALDWIN PARK
POLICE DEPARTMENT TO PARTICIPATE IN A
MULTI-AGENCY DRUNK DRIVING TASK FORCE.
WHEREAS, the California Highway Patrol, Baldwin Park Office,
has received grant funds for the creation of a multi-agency drunk
driving task force; and
WHEREAS, the grant includes participation by the police
departments of Azusa, Baldwin Park, Covina, Glendora, Irwindale,
West Covina and the Baldwin Park Office of the California Highway
Patrol; and
WHEREAS, the grant fully funds the participation of Baldwin
Park Police Personnel; and
WHEREAS, the participation of all agencies will enhance
public safety in the East San Gabriel Valley area based upon a
reduction of drunk driving related traffic accidents.
NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved that the Baldwin Park City
Council authorized the Baldwin Park Police Department to
participate in the grant known as VAIDEP Valley Agencies
Intoxicated Driver Enforcement Program), and authorizes the Chief
of Police to sign the participation agreement.
APPROVED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of
Baldwin Park this 5th day of August, 1992.
