OF BALDWIN PARK ESTABLISHING CITŸÊ·‹WORT FOR
PROCEEDING WITH THE COUNTYWIDE TRAFFIC SIGNAL
SYNCHRONIvµ”I, OPERATION, AND MAINTENANCE
SOM) PROGRAM'S PILOT PROJECT IN THE SANéÃÁaû' GABRIEL VALLEY
WHEREAS, the Traffic Reduction and Free Flow Interagen"ªK˜hmmittee TRAFFIC)!has made very good progress in developing the
SOM Pilot Project in the S}1ļeriel Valley, which is proposed to
include routes under the jurisdiction of the Cities of ]-À ¿na,
Azusa, Covina, Duarte, Glendora, Irwindale, Monrovia, Pasadena, and
San Dimas, the CoQµÚ8ûhf Los Angeles and the State of California,
Department of Transportation; and
Džé‰BAS, there has been excellent participation and full
support by the engineering representa ×$ûarom all involved agencies
in the SOM pilot area!for implementation of the SOM Program aloR.¬K¯oese routes as shown on the attached map of the proposed San
Gabriel Valley Pilot Project;¶Ì%Ö
NOW THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BALDWIN
PARK DOES RESOLVE AS F£óŒT:
1) To fully support TRAFFIC's SOM Pilot Project
in the Saäôæ ¹uiel Valley; and
2) To participate and cooperate in its
implï¹Ä/¯ftion, contingent upon securing the necessary
construction funds; and
pÒ„aû' 3) To participate in the ongoing pilot area forums
to be coordinated by theÐòÂ2ûFngeles County Transportation
Commission LACTC) Signal Support Group; and
v0Žaû' 4) To develop and implement mutually agreed upon
operating and ÓÍ/¯bnance policies and procedures; and
5) To insure ongoing multi-jurisdicZyÉ/ºk
coordination; and
6) Furthermore agrees to operate and maintain the
newly conrtructed facilities.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Clerk shall certify
to the adoption of this Resolution.
