A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BALDWIN PARK AUTHORIZING THE BALDWIN PARK POLICE
DEPARTMENT TO PARTICIPATE IN A MULTI-AGENCY
AUTO THEFT PREVENTION TASK FORCE
WHEREAS, the Los Angeles county Sheriff, in conjunction with
the County-wide Criminal Justice Coordinating Committee has
developed a consolidated vehicle theft curtailment program,
Task force: Regional Auto theft Prevention TRAP), fully funded
through a surcharge on Department of Motor Vehicle fees; and
WHEREAS, the task force includes participation by various
police departments in Los Angeles County, plus the California
Highway Patrol; and
WHEREAS, Baldwin Park Police Department has been selected
to participate in this Task force; and
WHEREAS, the participation of all agencies will enhance
prosecution of auto theft suspects, recovery of stolen vehicles,
and public awareness.
NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved that the Baldwin Park City
Council authorizes the Baldwin Park Police Department to
participate in the program known as Task force: Regional Auto theft
Prevention TRAP) and authorizes the Chief of Police to sign the
participation agreement.
APPROVED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of
Baldwin Park this 16th day of June, 1993.
