A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF BALDWIN PARK
FILLING A VACANCY ON THE
CITY COUNCIL BY APPOINTMENT OF
MANUEL LOZANO
WHEREAS, on November 17, 1994, Councilmember Martin Gallegos resigned as Councilmember
for the City of Baldwin Park, and thus created a vacancy upon the Baldwin Park City Council; and
WHEREAS, California Government Code Section 36512 requires that the city Council either fill the
vacancy by appointment or call a special election to fill the vacancy thirty 30) days of the creation of the
vacancy; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that it would be in the best interest of the City of
Baldwin Park to fill said vacancy by appointment; and
WHEREAS, Manuel Lozano meets all of the requirements of the office of Councilmember for the
City of Baldwin Park and has been determined by the City Council to be best suited to fill the vacancy,
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BALDWIN PARK FOES RESOLVE AS
FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Manuel Lozano is hereby appointed to the City Council of the City of Baldwin Park,
and authorized to exercise all the rights and duties thereof until the expiration of Councilmember Gallegos
present term.
SECTION 2. This resolution is effective immediately upon adoption.
