A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF BALDWIN PARK
REGARDING THE DISTRIBUTION OF
GRANT FUNDS UNDER THE 1995
SMALL BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION
TREE PLANTING PROGRAM
WHEREAS, Section 24 of the Small Business Act authorizes the Small Business Administration SBA)
to make pass through grants to any state for the purpose of contracting with small businesses to plant trees
on land owned or controlled by state or local government; and
WHEREAS, the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection CDF) has been awarded a grant
from SBA pursuant to 13 Code of Federal Regulations CFR) Section 125.12 to be utilized during the period
ofJanuary 1,1998 through July 31, 1996; and
WHEREAS,13 CFR Section 143.47 authorizes the State to award and administer subgrants to State
and local agencies who are qualified to participate in the program; and
WHEREAS, the City of Baldwin Park submitted a grant application for the amount of $54,020 and was
approved by the State to qualify and participate in the program.
NOW THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BALDWIN PARK DOES HEREBY
RESOLVE:
Section 1. That Sid Jalal Mousavi, Director of Public Works, is authorized to execute all necessary
documents under Contract #8CA95601.
Section 2. That this Resolution covers the contract with CDF and any subsequent amendments.
Section 3. That the City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution.
