A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF BALDWIN PARK
CHANGING THE STREET NAME OF
ROBIN AVENUE TO CESAR CHAVEZ DRIVE
WHEREAS, Government Code Section 34091.1 provides that the legislative
body of a city may name any city street or change the name of any city street; and
WHEREAS, Resolution No.79-37, as adopted by the City of Baldwin Park,
establishes a street naming policy; and
WHEREAS, Resolution No.92-108, as adopted by the City of Baldwin Park,
establishes a process for street name changes; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with the provisions of Resolution No.92-108, the City
Council of the City of Baldwin Park initiated a change of street name for Robin Avenue
to that of Cesar Chavez Drive; and
WHEREAS, said request has been made by the City in concurrence with the
Chief of Police, Fire Department and Director of Public Works; and
WHEREAS, on March 6,1996, the City Council adopted Resolution No.96- a
Resolution of Intention regarding the subject street name change, setting a public
hearing at the City Council meeting of March 6,1996; and
WHEREAS, the City Council reviewed the staff report and all public testimony
with regard to the street name change, and is now prepared to determine whether to
finalize the Resolution of Intention ro to abandon these proceedings; and
WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to honor the life time achievements of Cesar
Chavez; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the granting of this street name change
will be for the public benefit.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BALDWIN PARK
DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The foregoing recitals are true and correct and the City Council so
finds and determines.
SECTION 2. The change of the street name of Robin Avenue to Cesar Chavez
Drive is approved.
SECTION 3. The City Clerk is directed to transmit a certified copy of this
Resolution to the Board of Supervisors of the County of Los Angeles.

SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall forward a certified copy of this Resolution to
the Director of Public Works of the City of Baldwin Park.
