A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF BALDWIN PARK,
CAUFORIIIA, APPROVING WITIIDRAWAL FROM ThE
EAST SAN GABRIEL VALLEY INTEGRATED WASTE
MANAGEMENT JOINT POWERS AUTHORITY
WHEREAS, the members of the East San Gabriel Valley Integrated Waste Management Joint Powers Authority
Authority") have been cooperating since September], 1990, for the purposes of developing their Source Reduction and
Recycling Elements, Household Hazardous Waste Elements and Nondisposal Facilities Elements in response to the
California Integrated Waste Management Act of 1989 AB 939) and subsequent amendments, codified in Division 30 of
the Public Resources Code commencing with Section 40000, as amended; and
WHEREAS, in order to document this cooperation, the members of the Authority the cities of Baldwin Park,
Claremont, Covina, Diamond Bar, Duarte, El Monte, Glendora, Irwindale, La Habra Heights, La Verne, La Puente, Pomona,
San Dimas, South El Monte, Walnut, West Covina, the County Sanitation Districts of Los Angeles County, and the County
of Los Angeles) entered into an East San Gabriel Valley Integrated Waste Management Joint Powers Authority Agreement
the Agreement"); and
WHEREAS, circumstances have changed that do not warrant continued participation by the City as a member
of the East San Gabriel Valley Integrated Waste Management Joint Powers Authority; and
WHEREAS,Article II of the Agreement specifies any member may withdraw from the Authority by sending an
approved City Council resolution to the Authority; and
WHEREAS,the City is obligated to fund their share of the Authority expenses for fiscal year 1995-96 and billed
to the City prior to July 11, 1996; and
WHEREAS,upon approval for the Authority, the City has no further financial obligations for fiscal year 1996-97
and any subsequent year
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Baldwin Park approves the
withdrawal of the City from the East San Gabriel Valley Integrated Waste Management Joint Powers Authority
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, the City Clerk is directed to send a certified and executed copy of this resolution
to the East San Gabriel Valley Integrated Waste Management Joint Powers Authority
