A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF BALDWIN PARK DESIGNATING THE
CITY COUNCIL AS THE APPOINTING POWER
OF PERMANENT AND INTERIM DEPARTMENT
HEADS
WHEREAS, the Baldwin Park Municipal Code provides that appointments to any
department head position, including interim appointments, shall be made by the City
Manager with the consent of the City Council;
WHEREAS, the position of City Manager is currently vacant;
WHEREAS, the City Council also reserved the right and power to designate or
redesignate the persons authorized to carry out any obligations set forth in the Municipal
Code as powers or duties of the City Manager.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Baldwin Park does hereby
resolve as follows:
1. Appointments to and removals from any department head position, whether
full time or temporary, shall be made by the City Council.
2. This Resolution shall remain in full force and effect only during the time the
office of the City Manager remains vacant. Should the City Council appoint
a City Manager pursuant to Section 33.05 of the Baldwin Park Municipal
Code, this Resolution shall automatically become null and void.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City Baldwin
Park at a regular meeting held on the 7th day of August, 1996.
