A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BALDWIN PARK
SUPPORTING PROPOSITION 210- MINIMUM WAGE INCREASE
WHEREAS, the measure would increase the minimum hourly wage paid by employers to
employees working in all industries in the State of California to $5.00 per hour beginning March 1, 1997; and
WHEREAS, the measure would increase the minimum hourly wage paid by employers to
employees working in all industries in the State of California to $5.75 per hour beginning March 1,1998; and
WHEREAS, the measure would match the federal minimum passed by Congress and signed
by President Clinton on August 10, 1996; and
WHEREAS, the net effect of this measure when fully implemented in March 1988 would be to
increase the State of California's minimum wage from the new federal standard of $5.15 per hour up to $5.75 per
hour; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BALDWIN PARK AFFIRMS ITS COMMITMENT TO THE MINIMUM WAGE INCREASE AND SUPPORTS
PROPOSITION 210.
